I love people telling you which games do and do not belong on a personal top ten list. Nicely written, reading this makes me want to pick up Hotline Miami.
@Patman99: You have convinced me to read that book.
@Video_Game_King: Yeah, most of my information has come from references in movies and tv, and the stoners in my highschool painting scenes from it on their backpacks.
After playing any amount of the game, or watching previews about it, it is very evident that Ubisoft is using Lewis Carroll's story for inspiration. I have never read Alice in Wonderland but with my limited knowledge about the the book there are some parallels that I can discern, from the story being about traveling to an unfamiliar place, to the amount of drugs used in both, and of course the quotes that are peppered throughout. But that is where my knowledge ends, and I am just wondering if there are more direct references that i am missing never having read the book. Do any of the characters in the game parallel characters in the story? Plot points, thematic elements? I am interested in reading the story having finished the game, as reading The Heart of Darkness was interesting to read after playing the second game.
@MB: UGH SPOILERZZZZZZ!!! Sarcasm aside I would enjoy some post game dlc since there is little to do on the island is you are like myself and completed everything before finishing the game. Maybe after taking all those syringes and drinking crazy potions Citra feeds you you start to lose and and envision a third island full of Saints Row: The Third levels of insanity, I would be down with that.
Well, if your talking practicality you can pick up shot arrows. If your talking in terms of fun, the bow makes you feel like a total badass. But both points are moot because you really should just be stabbing everyone.
The knife and the bow are the only weapons you need in that game. And pebbles. On a related note I hope some of the games coming out in the future featuring bows in a modern context use things like trigger style releases and arrow rests, I would like to see the amount of detail they put into gun design in games be reflected in archery as well.
