@wiII: Exact same thing happened to me. First call resulted in no investigation, had to start from the beginning two weeks later when I called back. Still waiting for my points to be refunded - 73 days and four phone calls later...

@Paliv: Just call up XBox support to turn off auto-renewal. It is a pain, but not very hard to do.
