Gonna be honest, the game Jeff wants sounds like dogshit. Running on a featureless road, collecting dragon balls, losing 20 times in a row before you can win, etc. It just sounds tedious.

For me, Outer Wilds is a fantastic exploration game. And as soon as it's time to actually use the information to finish it, it's garbage. Ship controls take a long ass time to actually get used to for how little of it you have to control. I haven't finished it, I know I have to go back into the bramble and I just don't want to.

Echoing some other sentiments in the comments, first 3 days were kind of a wash. The games were discussed when they came out and those opinions don't seem to have changed since so I don't really see the point in re-iterating them. If it's about re-establishing that certain members loved them then I think that's really what the personal top 10 articles are for.

Honestly, not sure I can justify going so hard for Apex Legends when all it really does is add a ping feature, even if Man of Medan isn't the first to do what it does I have to say what it does is much more interesting.

Also, echoing Disco Elysium in best story, it happily stomps all the other stories this decade.

That's a certainly a way to get through much of the game, but I wouldn't exactly call it efficient. Effective for sure though.

The game definitely needs a little tuning to make players more willing to play aggressively, however.

I just feel like the guns are so weak and the 'mana' bar is so small, that I have to devote all my resources to whittling down numbers. Like, I could use shields and ground-pounds but that only ever got me killed. As opposed to throwing a satellite dish, which was both safer and faster than everything else I tried.

Actually, if they didn't need to have grindable mobs for "loot" they probably could've constructed more interesting and 'teachable' encounters. Ashtray maze certainly had me juggling everything I could do.

I genuinely like that after finishing Sekiro, Genichiro really isn't that fast at all. It really feels like something in my perception had changed and suddenly the rival wasn't even worth looking at. It's still the fight that, once learned, really nails that feeling of combat being a dance, just like those old samurai movies.

I wish I could agree about Control. The combat's just not interesting, you have lots of abilities but finding cover and throwing rocks is still the most efficient manner of getting through these (mostly uninspired) combat sections.

The most interesting part of the game is the side missions and those are mostly just visual effects and very basic puzzles.

I felt it was a complete waste of the setting.

@totalhenshin: So, I learned it as PEDMAS but not because of some parenthesis v bracket difference, we always used () before [ ] but that's not important. The thing is, my math class was in french, which translates "bracket" as "parenthèse" meaning that regardless of what symbol you refer to, we always used the same word.

Yeah, I can't agree with Destiny 2, it has 2 rooms that pop and the rest is incredibly generic sci-fi. I can't put it above Horizon and I actively dislike that game.

I don't know how much you guys should focus on real estate going forward, finishing the last billionaire takes a lot of meandering and waiting for bars to fill up (in my experience). I wouldn't recommend doing the grinding on camera at the very least.

As far as I know the stars in the catfight minigame indicate how likely the opponent is to throw that specific 'hand'. In the case of the finals with Jennifer, Dan insisted on using scissors which, with the opponent having a 1-star value on paper and a 5-star value on rock, was the worst possible hand he could throw.

Finally, to the transphobia discussion regarding the pleasure king; while I'm sure some pronouns could've been a little more sensitive, I don't think the character him/herself is necessarily poorly handled. She flirts with Kiryu and whatnot but there's never that 'ew gross' moment. Kiryu just kinda shrugs it off or deflects and I think the character's treated with as much respect as the rest of the billionaires. Yakuza 0's pretty progressive in general especially with the conclusion to the Mr. Libido friendship.
