I have been a fan of mmohut for a long time now and I think what Spunkify did should happen more often. Just imagine if Jeff was actually able to speak out when his thing happened all those years ago without any legal repercussions (yes I know it all eventually came out in the open after giantbomb went to cbs). If he was able to say something back then, maybe the site would have backed off with their pay for review practices and looked over how to manage a more respectable and eventually more desirable website. Now, I'm not saying mmohut is anywhere as big as gamespot was or is, but when employees speak out like this (assuming it is truthful), enough fan backlash may force them to step back, analyze what they're doing is damaging them in the long term, and maybe take steps and fix things. But from what Spunkify said, chances are they wont care and just continue to pile up the ads and push whatever reviewers they have to write more positive reviews so the ad money keeps coming in.

Awww Crap, I used to like gamespot, but then one day all the people I liked got replaced by soulless automatons. One day I noticed in a comment saying 'Giantbomb is better, Jeffs there too', and I never visited gamespot again. At least I had 3-4 years of non-gamespot's advertisement whore mongering to deal with, guess it was only a matter of time that money troubles would catch up with a group as free willed, skilled and respected as the GiantBomb crew.
