Day 68? - LBP Beta Invitation Blowout!

Hey all, ReTarDedFisHy is pretty damn sure that you guys have heard about all the LittleBigPlanet Beta Invitations craziness on the Internet. So crazy, that seekers of the Beta Invitation code were able to take down Eurogamer, one of Europe's biggest video game sites, as it was the first website to unleash Beta Invitation codes, and for free :O
Some have gone as far to call LittleBigPlanet LittleBigBeta.
The sudden 'splosion of users on various sites have put stress and is(was) noticeable in some, most notably Eurogamer (completely down, random crashes, slow DLs)
Besides the fact that saying that your website will give away free codes will raise traffic and hits through the roof, why would you want to risk committing suicide by letting the horde of LBP fans unto your site to wreak havoc and spam your forums asking where the keys are. Double-edged sword. Ka-PlowY!

Here's a little preview (from  The Game Reviews) :
"Yesterday marked the opening day of Media Molecule’s European beta test for LittleBigPlanet. With just under a month before release, the invite-only beta test is drawing public interest in numbers high enough to overwhelm major European game sites."

Lots of sites are seeing the uhh...benefits? of releasing these Beta keys to the public, so major sites like GameSpot, GamePro, 1UP, and X-Play have promised Beta Invitations next week. ReTarDedFisHy himself was one of the thousands watching today's live episode of GameSpot's "On the Spot", just for the sole reason that they were giving out Beta Invitation codes at the end of the show through trivia questions. Like the "rest of us" ReTarDedFisHy feels that there's no way that he will get the code, even if he did the trivia question... Besides, GameSpot only has 1,000. ReTarDedFisHy also feels that GameSpot's paid subscribers will get priority anyway. !#$% that.

In other news (hehe :P), Apparently there's been a rumor going around that LittleBigPlanet is actually going to be released earlier than planned, according to PlatformNation, whom says "according to PlayStation Underground" :S

From Platform Nation:

"We all know how LittleBigPlanet is suppose to come out Oct 21, but according to an email directly from Sony via PlayStation Underground, it appears that it might be coming a couple weeks earlier then expected.

What do you think, typo? or early release?"

Do you buy it? ReTarDedFisHy certainly does not. (if only...)

What I don't get is why are they putting out a beta if the game has gone gold, isn't the point of a beta to stress test stuff, like server load? Plus, it's coming out soon, will be awesome. No doubt.

Omg, the gamespot thing was hectic as hell.  I was watching on the spot, while simultaneously reading the official Playstation boards. Gamespot kinda gave some confusing instructions, and people went crazy. Madness I tell ya....I didn't get my answer in until 10 min after it opened up. Luckily I was able to nab a key from another site...yayuh!

Agreed, haha. Instructions were confusing as hell, by the time ReTarDedFisHy figured that the instructions were given, it was probably too late.
