Cool - Massive's been talking a lot about learning from the first game, and the first game left things in a pretty good state. Give me more of that with some new toys and a new colour palette and I'm happy.
I'd really love to see Kojima direct an Ace Combat game, that's pretty much the style AC's been going for anyways. "Arsenal Bird confirmed" are you kidding me.
Hawken is a cool game and I enjoyed the couple-dozen hours I put into it after the F2P transition. But nowadays it's really difficult to recommend over something like Titanfall.
Titanfall's in-mech gameplay is very similar to Hawken, is of equal quality, and the interplay between mechs and on-foot makes Titanfall a more interesting package. And if the pure mech-vs-mech combat is all you want, you should really be playing Quake.
Hawken lived good life, then it died and the world moved on. I wish it would stay dead.
1) Ubisoft still makes the best trailers in the business
2) The protagonists look like terrible people
3) Cover-based laptopping
Putting these 3 points together, I hope Ubisoft is in on the joke and takes this to Saints Row levels of ridiculousness. The guy on a scooter is a good start.
Maybe I'd buy one of these games if I ever had even the slightest idea where to start. These naming conventions and ultra-generic trailers are not helping.
If your target demo is hardcore fans who've played all of these games before, why even bother making a trailer? One tweet with ensuing news coverage will reach 99% of the people who can actually comprehend this trailer.
