My most favored games from 2010 that I either sampled or outright bought. Titles I haven't touched don't count.

Party (up) like it's 1999. Haven't played any other game more multiplayer or in the single-player campaign (musta finished the various difficulties some four times in total). SCII wins by a mile.
Leveling up was addictive if not practically beneficial; the only other game I really spent a significant amount of time in online.
Gotta keep that save rolling (into Mass Effect 3), character interaction never got old, and the shooting was an exciting improvement over its predecessor.
Surprisingly addictive, even if it took me a long time to actually plug it into my DS. Perfect for fans of Minesweeper, Sudoku, or even the 2D original. Just - one - more - puzzle!! (But why can't I download new puzzles with my DS Phat??)
Criterion bringing back Hot Pursuit... Burnout-style. Could do with a simpler track interface, but the friends leaderboards work wonders for extending gameplay.
Will this incredible deluxe edition (of the old-school comeback) ever go on sale? Aw, screw it... I'll pay full price (i.e., $10) -- on the PS3!!
Best-feeling (albeit the craziest-looking) action game this year.
Even the demo was great fun!
Ridiculously cute -- and surprisingly forgiving (here's lookin' at you, New Super Mario Bros. Wii).
