It's decently accurate for me, especially with certain genres like horror and tv shows. I've got certain score thresholds for certain genres that I know I'll have a decent chance of enjoying. Don't think I could enjoy Netflix without it because their recommendation ratings are complete nonsense since they scrapped the 5 star system.

I wish they would be more flexible and just squeeze it in somewhere or even bump some other feature on another day of the week. I mean does it really have to be on Wednesdays no matter what? Like no offense to wrestling fans and all but 13 Deadly Sims seems significantly more popular than Gaiden the Ring based on comments and buzz. I wish they would have just done 13 Sims friday instead if it comes to one or the other. Shame we missing 2 weeks of probably one of the best and most popular features on the site just because snow on Wednesdays, it's killing the momentum a bit.

@ll_exile_ll: I have being a subscriber for 5 years and i am really thinking about retracing it. I feel there at a super safe zone like somebody doing the same job for 30 years and just doing the same stuff over and over again cause it "easy" to do so instead of innovating. In the Whiskey media days they went for it a 100% cause they needed those subscribers. Now there in a safe zone when it comes to money and there going at it 30 % because they got lucky with new subs. I know it's a shitty thing to tell somebody to do a better job but these people are really talented and i don't want to see there potential being wasted at Lazy let's play videos. Going through there premium content of this year and the only thing worth watching are FMV vinny let's plays and Demo Derby, UPF these days feels like a slog like they need to be there.

You've got some rose tinted glasses on there because GBEasts content is every bit as creative and effortful as stuff Whiskey Media Gbomb was doing. I mean they just did a show where they made disgusting playdough food in an easy bake oven while playing cooking games. That is not just "easy lazy let's play" videos. For extra life they made a video game, did hilarious magic tricks and played a mafia type game on top of playing a bunch of games. They've started doing some great series with wonderfully edited intros like EX Corps and Six Crazy Frights. They are trying hard and coming up with new ideas all the time. GBEast adds entertaining twists to everything that you'll never find on twitch/youtube which is just some dude/lady sitting in their bedroom playing a video game. You can say you don't like GBEasts zanny content, that's fine, that's your preference, but to call it "easy" "safe zone" "going at it 30%" and "lazy let's play videos" is just completely exaggerated fictitious slander. GBEast works damn hard to entertain us.

As for being stuck in the past, the only major difference in terms of content variety/effort is everything is more video game focused these days compared to Whiskey Media, but that's not really a fair comparison because well CBSi brought them as a video game site and all the tested/comicvine/etc stuff is gone. That's just how it is now, it's a video game site, take it or leave it. Oh and the fact that GBEast is more limited in some ways by their tiny studio, which is a bummer but not their fault in terms of "effort".

Now... I will agree somewhat when it comes to GBWest this past year though... it's been pretty dead over there in terms of new content ideas and energy and it does kind of feel like they've been going through the motions for a long time. But GBEast is killin it and well worth the subscription alone for many of us who have been following gbomb from the beginning too. Hopefully GBWest will pick up this year with an extra producer on board, though I'm not getting my hopes up too high.

Anyways, as to OP. I do miss skits but overall I think stuff like Hitmas and VR GORN Vinny makes up for it. Though I hope maybe next year theres a balance. Maybe just 1 longish edited skit or two with everyone, and then the regular content they've doing on top of that. Best of both worlds would be nice.

Yes, for PS4 at least, mostly because you can usually find better sales on physical. I got Nier and Horizon for $20 each recently, new. Lowest I saw them digital was $30 around the same time, and the digital sales are usually far less frequent for consoles than retailer physical sales. Shipped to my door for free so not even like I had to put much effort in over buying digital. In fact buying physical from online retailers is often less inconvenience than dealing with a 50 gb digital download slowing my internet down for a while. Also, even though my ISP doesn't have caps, I sometimes worry if I download tons of 50+ gb games they'll decide to throttle me or something. I try to avoid poking the hornets nest.

Yep, works. Finally, I missed watching giantbomb content on my ps4 while mindlessly grinding in games on PC, therapeutic.

Lootboxes easily. Even if it's "just cosmetic stuff" the very concept of random lootboxes purchasable with real money is completely disgusting. The idea that you have to pay money just for a low chance of getting the thing you want, and if you don't get lucky, sorry try again (buy some more) rather than just being able to buy that exact thing you want, is just fucked. They are designed to prey on people's weaknesses and try to screw people into buying more lootboxes than they ever wanted to just to try to get the 1 specific thing they want, and that is not okay. I mean just imagine that concept applied to real world purchases, the only option for buying food or electronics or whatever else involved having to buy random lootboxes potentially full of all sorts of crap you don't want instead of the one item you do want. It's downright dystopian and the world would riot.

Now when you add player power to these boxes, or tie your entire progression system to this type of shit, you're reaching a whole new level of gross. The only "microtransaction" model I can kind of accept in a full priced $60 game, is one where you can directly buy some exact cosmetic (no gameplay) items that you want, no randomness, no gambling with your money, and those same things better be obtainable for free also through a reasonable amount of just playing the game.

EA is starting to design games for their shareholders instead of gamers now. So many of the "features" are things that will make their shareholders salivate instead of things that will make their players happy. It's fucking depressing, especially when you consider almost all the profits from these predatory monetization systems just go straight into the pockets of the rich execs and shareholders pushing this shit on us, while the average joe dev will probably still be overworked and underpaid and hates him/herself for what they are participating in now.

Can't link accounts on PS4 browser? I was trying to use qlcrew as a [possible workaround since giantbomb.com won't play videos on ps4 browser right now and there's no ETA on a fix. I can play quicklooks on qlcrew fine (as opposed to giantbomb which won't even play quicklooks on ps4 browser this week) but every time I try to play a premium video it says I need to link accounts, I click the link go to the page, type in the code and link it, it says it's linked then going back to qlcrew the same thing just happens again says I need to link accounts when I try to play premium videos. My account is linked fine on PC, but ps4 refuses to work.

-Nevermind about quicklooks working, it seems only ones that were playing off the youtube player work on qlcrew.com, I get the "can't play this video need to link accounts" message on quicklooks that were trying to play off the giantbomb player, so maybe the message is because giantbomb videos aren't working and this workaround won't work.

The Babysitter on Netflix. Enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. Home Alone meets Tucker and Dale vs Evil/Dead Snow. Funny, crazy and entertaining. 7/10
