the story being pretty bland and unoriginal doesn't shock me. something about faceless main characters like these allows leads me to think the story is going to be uninteresting. Seems like they sacrificed story and unique characters for cool looking gameplay. when i was younger late teens I would be fine with that, but as I've gotten older the less gameplay matters so much to me; so hearing that the story is just fine is disappointing. shame bioware has seemed to leave the unique and interesting world behind for game mechanics.
I absolutely love Tetris. I've played hundreds of hours of Tetris DS alone. But Tetris Effect is, if you ask me, the worst version of Tetris of all time. Seeing it win is... baffling, to say the least. It's even worse than Tetris Ultimate. It's not even Tetris, it's the same old tired Mizuguchi explosion of sound and visuals with no substance. He does the same trick in every single game he produces: Lumines, REZ, Child of Eden and now Tetris Effect. The guy could do the same with checkers or sudoku and everyone would praise it as a massive revolution.
For a second year in a row, Giant Bomb's GOTY is a massive disappointment for me. Yikes.

I don't get Alex's complete hate towards Detroit. Or the idea that he thinks Cage thinks he's the first person to use racism in their story. Yeah, it's been used plenty of times elsewhere, but what does Detroit do that makes it seem like David Cage thinks he's the first person to do so?
And pretty sure the LED that gets taken off can only be taken off if their are deviant right? so in a perfect world why they never went deviant, that LED thing wouldn't be an issue...
Detroit gets way too much shit from people because it's attached to David Cage. If the exact same game came out and his name wasn't attached to it, it wouldn't get nearly the same level of hate it gets now.
Abby is right in her critism with how female characters are done in GoW. It's just the "i don't fucking care" when Vinny brings up an opposing view point, that's uncalled for. just my 2 cents.
I totally understand Dan's feelings on RDR2. I loved RDR1, and while I can recognize RDR2 is a good game, I'm struggling to have fun while playing it. Maybe it comes down to my patience for open world games has gone down, but I really wish I enjoyed playing it more. But it will probably be a game I go into a mess around with in 10-20 minute chunks.
@vicious17: Totally with you. I come to dragon ball for crazy power ups and fights. and DB Super is just that on steroids. And personally, I know if they end up going back to rewatching original Dragon Ball I'll be incredibly disappointed. Hard to go from crazy powers and villains to a kid with a pole and cloud...
If you hate wrestling this podcast isn't for you. That is all. Comments full of spam about how it is bad are as tiresome as all the anime recommendations.
