Much like VVVVVV, Meatboy has perfect level design and control mechanics. Adding leaderboards to that formula provides extra motivation to keep trying.

Wonderful storytelling and haunting atmosphere combined with intense Lovecraftian game-play. Very unique and enjoyable.

With my current game save having over a thousand deaths, five survivors and eight shiny things, including "Veni, vidi, vici", it might surprise you than I have not gotten angry even once at this very difficult game. The levels are so perfect all you can do is smile in admiration and try again.
