I played it for the first time last month and was still hugely impressed. I can't see them ERing it, but I'm going to play through again soon with the unofficial patch and as Malkavian (big changes to the dialogue).
TF2 is unplayable for me at this point. I tried to go back to it recently but the latency and netcode's handling of it leads to a lot of hits not registering as scout for me. Sucks to have experiences ruined by tech issues.
I really just want to hear them speak their piece about the games that they feel strongly about. The format can facilitate that, but this time around the crew was bad at it. IMO they should either mediate the discussion better, or get the list stuff out of the way by basing it on their personal top 10s, then talk about the games that did or didn't end up on it.
"Vanilla" with the sort of engine/graphical/UI updates that have come through since Cataclysm sounds pretty cool! WoW isn't really my cup of tea but this is a good announcement.
I doubt their going to bring the graphical updates to this, ppl who want the vanilla experience probably want it to also look like it did back then too.
I wonder if they'll do a poll or something. They'll be starting with the modern engine as a base for the networking, but it sounded like they wanted to get player feedback for whether they should modernize parts or not.
I don't understand where the idea that it will fail is coming from. Between EQ and Runscape, there's consistent indicators that people will pay for classic content and stick with it long-term.
It bothers me when games production cost is used as an excuse. AAA houses shoved graphics and power advertisements down our throats for 30 years, and now they can't keep up with the reality that they've caused. It's on them to figure out team sizes and production pipelines that a reasonable budget can support. We shouldn't be putting up with exploitative business practices for the sake of their keeping up with the Joneses.
Playing through all of the Kingdom Hearts series in order. So far I watched videos of Chi/Back Cover, beat KH1, and am almost done with CoM.
CoM's story/combat is tough to get into after KH1, but there's something really nice about the change in tactics that the cards bring. Fights still generally end up as "hit it until it dies", but I'm forced to think a lot more about timing because my attacks can be broken.
I have my PC and PS3 hooked into my monitor, then I run 3.5mm cables from my monitor and PC to my speakers. Works pretty well for me, but it requires that your monitor have an audio out.
