I came here to ponder this same thing. I have two friends who think it's great, and I just don't get it.

I must have been the wrong age when I played FF VII because while I enjoyed it, I don't have any reverence for it, and I don't care about this remake at all.

But good god, if the comments here are already taking this tone, Video Game Internet is going to be a pretty insufferable place once the game actually comes out.
