This is a list of my favorite games

[in progress]

List items

  • Up first is my all-time favorite. Yes, the first Half-Life game started it all, but this game embodies everything I want in a story-driven FPS. There's nothing that reaches the same level in my opinion.

I've logged many hours into this game, making some "no bullets" runs on hard. It's incredibly fun and difficult to use only the crowbar and explosives.

By a rather large margin, this is my favorite game. I know, "way to go mainstream".

  • This is by far my favorite platform shooter. I've put so many hours into this game it's sickening. However, I can't help but play through this thing at least every other month. I knew I had played it too much when I made a "X-buster only" run through the game and beat it.

  • This is my first RTS. It is also one of my favorites. This had one of the best time progressions in a game I have ever played. It goes through the ages in a way that is straightforward, yet is complex enough to keep interest. The unique powers and units to each country also made this incredibly fun, along with the multiplayer and taunts.

This is also the first RTS I actually kicked some ass at. I put entirely too many hours into this game.

Also, this started my fascination with gears/cogs.

  • This is my favorite online FPS by far. I know all the BF and COD guys are slapping their foreheads, I have had the most fun playing this game. The others just get too serious.

  • I actually never owned this game, but my uncle did. I would play this for hours every summer at his cabin, and still do when I visit. This was a nice mix of quick reaction times and fun, as well as having a great soundtrack.

  • How could one not love this game? It is probably THE best horror game I've played yet. However, I haven't played that many horror games.

  • Now some might argue that the second game is better, and I will agree with them on many points. However, in my opinion, Altair is the better badass. Ezio might have more character development, but this Altair was harder, and the original ass-kicker. This game's influence has pushed gaming forward, as many games have a similar structure of control. Most importantly, this game made the player feel like an indestructible badass who was so awesome all he had to do was counter to win. The imperfections MADE this game so memorable.
