This is why I come to Giant Bomb. But its also impossible to explain to someone who has no idea what GB is.. why I just watched a guy clean his garage and read receipts from 20 years ago.
But when Jeff said 'this isn't some state of the union.. this is me with this awesome Max Headroom mug I just found' it made me feel better and also feel better about the future of GB.
I never post to comments here or even read them but for some reason I did on this feature. Kind of wish I hadn't. This is a website where people come to watch other people play video games and in some cases pay money to see videos. In the last century 50 million people died of the 1918-1919 Spanish Flu and between 44.4-70.5 million died of famine. Yet we have become so decadent we can spend hours of the free time that generations before us never had watching other people play video games and complain about what they are wearing.
My problem with Destiny 2 is that Bungie can't seem to figure out how serious of a tone they want to take. This game has four comedy NPCs if you can call them that. It really ruins the tone on Io after Ikora's desperate plea. She seems borderline in tears over the importance of that place and what the Cabal are doing to it. You then meet Asher Mir who seems to be one step away from yelling at you kids to get off his darn lawn and also makes a joke about a vuvuzela.
The Exodus Black should have been a far more somber event than just some radio morning show talking about the Titanic.... "IDK some people died. LOL." Lore wise it was ship full of hundreds of people fleeing for their lives and suffering from a catastrophic failure. The Black and the colony ship in the Cosmodrome would be full of lots of dead civilians.
Maybe the Collapse was just really everything being "All Vexy and stuff....."
