So glad this is actually sincere and fun. Very much what I hoped Kingdom Heartache would have been instead of just shitting on something for 45 mins or being completely uninterested. I really hope this continues and maybe they get into another series once this is done because although I like DBZ it's certainly not the best even in it's genre.
Ok now im fairly certain Horizon is the biggest snub in Giant Bomb history. At first i thought it was going to be somewhat forgotten like Witcher 3 was the year it came out. How in the fuck does a 5 star game not even make it onto the list. Maybe Guerilla should add a do dumb shit with friends mode for the sequel or maybe even bad microtransactions and maybe people will talk about it.

Also with all the talk about female protagonists not being represented Horizon was a huge AAA game with a female protagonist that wasnt sexualized in any manner and yet it seems to have been completely overlooked. Luckily it sold fairly well or else that really would have sucked for Guerilla.

i think it really comes down to the fact of when it was released, it came out and then a week or so later Zelda came out. No one played or finished Horizon because Zelda came out, and when they played it later in the year they didn't really stick with it. I find it mind-boggling too, since Jeff played it up to being one of his favorites of the year when he played it.
That definitely seems to be it, Dan even mentions it in this podcast. It's so infuriating since I just do not get Zelda hype at all, I never have. Horizon is probably one of my favorite games ever and none of them seemed to give it a fair shake at all. I'm already gearing up to be frustrated by the top ten list when they spend all their time talking about which is better, the early access shooty game or the Zelda game with the same story but you can climb the mountain instead of having to walk around it.
Breath of the Wild had a story? I must've missed it.

Horizon has one expansion DLC that is awesome for under $20 and is basically flawless in all other aspects and yet it seems to have been completely forgotten. When was the last time a 5 star game got such little recognition (Witcher 3?)
Im generally not someone that gets bothered by a game not being recognized but i have no idea what Horizon has to do to get some fucking recognition. Its the first game i have ever 100% and platinumed. Everything about it was amazing. Abby kept saying it wasnt really doing anything new and my mouth was just on the floor like what game has that kind of style or even graphical prowess. Im just stunned.
I have time and sleep between myself and this podcast now, but I still can't believe the negativity around Horizon. It is without a doubt the best looking game out there right now. When I want to show off my PS4 Pro and 4K TV to someone, I will show them Horizon every time. As others have said, D2 is just generally not very impressive, and its inclusion is doubly odd considering Uncharted (one of the greatest looking games ever) was removed because it looks too similar to its predecessor, which Destiny is certainly also guilty of. The way that conversation went really rubbed me the wrong way, not just for the opinions expressed, but how they were presented.
Don't even get me started on Horizon being mentioned in Most Disappointing. Like, "different folks" and all that, but the buzz around Horizon never reached a fever pitch. It didn't have time to sustain any momentum before Zelda dropped.
That Ben uproar over the getting a free xbox for buying a diamond seemed really weird. So when it comes to love saving money or getting anything in return should just not be a thing. For the record I agree it is a very strange promo I just don't agree with his take on the matter that your just not allowed to get anything back in return. This same kind of societal shit keeps people from using coupons because they don't want to be looked down upon.
It has been somewhat of a trying year in terms of every video game related content outlet doing a ton of PUBG content. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with having lots of coverage of an EXTREMELY popular game as it will please the majority but it's just unfortunate for some of us who don't care about that particular game at all.
There, now that I got that off my chest I can live with seeing PUBG everywhere next year too. Sorry for being whiny, folks.
Its all good man other than Destiny, PUBG has easily been the most i have either just been completely bored or actively hated watching a game. Then seeing everyone freak out about poorly climbing up a surface and saying how good everything looks when it seems so bland.
Oh well im glad everyone can enjoy themselves but i feel like most of there tastes arent aligning with mine anymore and im actually for the first time thinking of dropping my subscription and maybe taking my money to a place like Easy Allies.
I can't believe we are all just going to let it slide that Dan the owner of a very expensive OLED tv isn't even using HDR because he has a "nice receiver". If it wasn't for the hilarious "stroke me" section I would have been much more livid.
