Super fun stream! I am glad they save these streams for when it's a smaller crew of people. These streams would be a lot less fun if there were to many people in the room or if the crew that was there was not into the story or the puzzles.
@dashibuya: Expecting someone to be able to articulate arguments as well as Austin Walker is an unreasonable expectation.
The tropes that Abby was discussing are used quite frequently in media and I can understand her response. The whole package of God of War is so well done, but them still using those old tropes is kinda disappointing and aggravating since they have the ability to do so much better. To people who are tired of those tropes, finding them in a game they are emersed in will likely knock them out of the emersion and bother them even more.
I wanna just say I like the new format so far. I feel like it is a great review of the games that came out this year. I listen to both the bombcast and beastcast, but I still forgot about a few of the games that they mentioned here. It also provided a reminder for me at least of their opinions on the games as well. It also acts as a more transparent record of their reasoning behind nominating games for certain awards while not nominating others. Plus it lets them talk about games that would likely not fit into any category.
I am excited to see how it turns out. There will likely be some repetition in the later podcasts, but I think covering this stuff here might allow for more in depth discussions that fit the category more.
