I think Eidos isn't the only publishers who has these kind of practices. It would be understandable if the game was of poor quality but Batman: Arkham Asylum actually looks like it will end up being a good videogame.
I think this will end up as a pretty good game. Based on all the trailers/previews i've seen it seems to be a polished and fun game based on the Batman universe. It was also delayed, which is mostly a sign the developer/publisher cares about it's quality.
Never seen the original TRON but I heard alot of good things about it. There seems to be a rise of quality sci-fi movies lately, a change I can applaud.
The game appears to be of a high quality so it's a shame there are no plans (as of yet) of it being released in the west. I would buy a localized version, even if it's only subbed.
I don't know if you guys already know this but there was an advertisement for a viral page involving Batman: Arkham Asylum sneaked away in yesterday's episode of GTTV. If you want to see it yourself it was sneaked away right after the first commercial break. Image below.
