@cjduke: Take the stress off? Oh man not for me or my friends. Dota and the like are the only games that have ever made me rage during a game and physically want to beat up strangers. Even in other team games your individual skill can still bring you victory, but in a moba, you are so dependent on strangers that playing with randoms is like Russian roulette. Sometimes everything goes fine, but other times your team falls apart into ragers/leavers/feeders and there is nothing you can do about it.
What would be the best switch type if noise is an issue? I really can't be making a racket at night while my roommate is trying to sleep and not knowing anyone who has a mechanical keyboard to test the loudness has made me hold off on a purchase.
From the sound of it Blue and probably Brown are too loud for my needs. So from the sound of it, Black and Red would be the switch types that are best for my situation.
The SteelSeries 6Gv2 looks like it offers what I want, but can anyone offer an opinion on the noise level and general quality? Other brands which fit into a gaming/typing (yet quiet) are also welcome.
First off, how does this prevent crime? All this would do is make it easier to identify suspects. There would be no crime prevented by having the DNA on file so the suicide bomber can be identified from some scrap of skin.
You have more to fear from your own government then any foreign terrorist group. There are far more wrongful deaths at the hands of police officers then all the deaths in the USA from terrorists.
What if your genetic data becomes leaked? What if you have genes making you prone to certain types of cancer and your insurance company gets that data. Do you now lose your plan or have to pay a higher premium?
Your internet usage is monitored. You think Facebook or Google can data mine you? What if the NSA decides to create profiles for everyone and those with flags are closely monitored? You contribute to a political blog, make bomb jokes in text messages, or any of thousands of potential metrics that can be used and you are now on a watch list. The IRS decides to audit you to see if you are hiding funds or wiretap your cell phone to know what you are saying.
The simple fact is, I would rather have more criminals free then lose my privacy.
Yup. Really hoping the next-gen games can fully utilize the pc rig I built a couple months back. Really hopeful the x86 architecture makes PC ports shine.
Anticipating seeing the specs of this nextbox already and see how the two compare.
Magnets, they attract the virus and remove them through magic.
I've had success with Windows Defender and Malwarebytes, but I generally just backup what I need then do a clean install. It might sound like a lot of work, but if you are going to spend hours messing around with different anti-virus software it might be worth it to skip all those steps and do the sure-fire fix.
pack it inside the original cardboard box with the polystyrene moulds
How do you get it to fit after adding so many layers to the tower?
I'd recommend taking the GPU out and wrapping it separately, especially if it is a large card. If there box gets some rough handling I can imagine the PCI connection cracking or snapping under the stress.
