Thanks for this Patrick, I can't tell you many confused responses I got when saying the PAX 10 was my favorite booth at the show. It was the opposite last year when it was part of the main expo hall.

Wow. Gabe sounds so fucking pompous and self-righteous. AND YOU FUCKING PEOPLE ARE FEEDING HIS EGO. I honestly don't care where I can digitally buy the game, because I'm getting it retail, but come on. Gabe's just being a dick when he says all this.
So feeding EA's ego would be better?  I think Gabe makes some fair points and EA walking away from steam will only hurt them in the long run.

Frankly I hate the concept of Origin simply due to the fact that I don't want to install another god damn store/service on my PC. I like having everything in one convenient location with a great updating service like Steam.

"A fantastic animated project titled Omandi Mech 5, which is a futuristic sci-fi action adventure centered around a family of warrior scientist whose son is resurrected in the body of a giant hero robot, a MECH. Along with the allied freedom fighting forces of N.A.R.A., they battle pre-human evolution beings, who set out to reclaim the surface planet and reduce the earthlings to beasts of burden and FOOD."

Just wanted to remind everyone that these words happened.

This really isn't worth getting super pissed off about. Gold farmers have caused massive damage to the integrity of online gaming and they are seemingly unkillable. Taking the power away (read CASH FLOW) looks to be the only legitimate way to fight their kind. The real problem is that people are more than willing to spend money on loot whether we like it or not, I'd rather Blizzard/Activision control it then have it fun the shady sorts that run Gold Farming "Businesses".

My advice is to play a Soldier or Sentinel through ME1 then play the Vanguard in ME2. The ME1 version of the Vanguard is not terribly fun to play whereas in ME2 they get their amazing charge ability and become an absolute blast.

Moon (I think this came out before 2010 but is so worth a watch).

Came into recommend Moon as well, such a great and under-seen sci-fi film. The exterior lunar scenes look amazing on blu-ray and have really stuck with me visually.

Why the cut off at 2010? There are so many classics that look great on blu-ray that are insanely fun to watch:

  • The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
  • The Wild Bunch
  • Alien & Aliens
  • Bladerunner
  • Close Encounters of the Third Kind
  • The Thing

Other movies from the past decade that I highly recommend:

  • Inglorious Basterds
  • Children of Men
  • No Country for Old Men
  • There Will Be Blood
  • District 9
  • Lord of the Rings (extended)

I blame my several month long Borderlands addiction on Jeff, I also would have never checked out Arkham Asylum if it wasn't for the Bombcast.

I just thought this thread could use a little more hipster pretension.

There is nothing pretentious about Pavement!

Which leads me to my permanent summer jam:

The fact that you're bothered by this rule justifies it's existence.
