Another Arcade game, but bloody hell, this game really sets a high watermark. Both with terrific characters, and story-telling, Telltale Games capture the audience with a sharp hook, and will leave you begging for more.

Not normally a fan of TBS games generally... I think the challenge is the bit that pulled me back for more and more.

Technically this is a 2011 game, I know, but I didn't get to fully play through this until 2012, so this counts in my book. What I most enjoyed about Dead Island was the innovative control system that many games could learn a lesson from. Also, the combination of MMO style questing, with an open environment, and 4 way Co-Op were all delivered brilliantly. Even if it goes fucking stupid from Chapter 3 onwards!

Ok, so its not the best in the series. And it isn't the best game to be released in 2012 either. Also, it has to have one of the most frustrating endings I have ever played through too. Wait, why is this here?! I guess the tree running, and generally the design of the Frontier is what I really came to appreciate. Also, I really enjoyed those boating missions. That's why this is here!
