I don't expect she'll be playable, but I think I'd like to see a version of Shiek, some kind of a agile ninja or rouge. Or a magic-knight maybe she learns spell instead of collecting items.

Oh Jeff. One, I appreciate you gathering this together, even being on twitter as this was taking place I only caught glimpses of what was happening. That's one issue I have with twitter, another is that there isn't any room for nuance; good things sometimes become the best thing.

I listen to Jeff Canatta's podcast and he is very much an enthusiastic, dorky dad. I think modest roasting is deserved.

I well and truly despised the writing. The game is gorgeous, but the try hard, snarky, too cool for schoolness just sapped all my interest within minutes.

Kill la Kill is my favorite anime that I have the hardest time recommending. I like that studio, their anime often has a little more going on than you'd expect.

My introduction to anime was FLCL (actually dubbed robotech but I didn't know it was anime at the time) and that's kinda similar in being everything you'd expect in anime turned up to 11 plus great music.

I'm a little let down so far, but we'll see where it goes. I do really dislike the story direction the sequel has gone.

In Doom 2016 it seemed like a normal future society and Doom Guy had some mysterious backstory involving hell. In Doom Eternal the entire future seems like Asgard from Thor, like the entire world is a fully techno-magic warrior society.

I would say everyone in the latest GTA's. Between the first many hours feeling like a tutorial and hating literally every character in the latest GTA's I have never made it past fourish hours.

Most of the time I don't decided to quit, I just trail off as something else grabs my attention and I'll probably return to those games at a later point.

I do tend to quit a game when I feel like I saw all the content; Phoenix Point, Darkest Dungeon, Star Dew valley, etc. A lot of these I really like, but they don't seem to hand out rewards to the end.

Difficulty spikes can also turn me off. I dropped Sekiro at the final and gave up on Apex Legends when they didn't add skill based match making. I put in time that had gotten me threw similar games and challenges with no real improvement, and just a lot of frustration to show for it.

I'm not blown away so far. I'm not invested in any of the characters and the action is serviceable. The whole thing has felt thin and unless something changes I'll probably cancel after finishing the good seasons of The Simpsons.

Helluva bump, but I think Dark Souls is the better game. I have my frustrations with that game, I never want to go up against trash mobs ever again. I don't think they're interesting to fight against and I can't recall any interesting encounters with them.

I try out Dragon's Dogma every time I hear Austin Walker talk about it and I bounce off every time. Trainable AI companions is an interesting idea, but it just means they can operate at a much lower level. For example, my archer companion couldn't use special arrows unless I showed them how by switching classes for a few hours. The enemy AI is pretty brain dead and playing the magic knight class really highlights that fact, I spent hours casting a shield parry spell that I only used a couple times, because melee enemies seldom attack. I think the only challenge in that game comes from pretty harsh level difference penalties. There are neat ideas there, but I think you have to be willing to meet the game more than halfway.

I started with normal, but restarted on hard mode after finding the first missions to be too easy. I read that you can lower the difficulty on hard, but can't raise it from normal. Hard has been pretty easy until the last two missions, around level 17 or so, when there was a sudden spike in difficulty.
