@y2kbug77: Yeah, lots of options out there starting to get into affordable prices. Whatever you get, an EV is a smart way to go.

How are all the Beastcasters not aware that the Switch already has digital game sharing for the same account on multiple Switches?!

Like the PS4 (somewhat), you designate one system as your primary console which allows for offline play of downloadable content/etc. Non-primary consoles require an internet connection to play downloadable content and titles must be launched by the account that purchased the content.

Downloadable content can only be accessed online on one Switch at a time (and will be paused on non-primary Switches when started on another Switch or the internet connection is lost). Not perfect, but a decent solution for someone with multiple Switches (and with cloud saves allows for decent continuity of game saves [for games that support it - and at least for games like Splatoon 2 you can now transfer individual game saves without having to transfer entire accounts]).

Oh my God! I was afraid my Japanese mailbag to GBeast had gotten lost, but there it is! I sent this at the same time I sent my GB West package (with the Mini-Famicom in the Giant Bomb Mailbag: Asphalt Candy Edition - https://www.giantbomb.com/videos/giant-bomb-mailbag-asphalt-candy-edition/2300-11898/), so I had given up hope, but I’m so glad it was eventually opened on camera!

@sleinmcawesome: Yeah, I cannot speak to the current quality of the foodstuffs in my package after them having sat for over a year, but...they are well sealed and the Duders like to take risks so... ^_^

The Mario Pikachu folders should be good though!

(Now I just wonder if @Jeff ever plugged in that Mini-Famicom...)

That emailer is wrong, you can totally play every 2 player NeoGeo game with a single Joy-Con... you have to set them up as 2 controllers in the Switches options menu then start the game

I can confirm. Have had 2 people play Metal Slug 3 on my Switch with only 2 Joy-Cons (not 2 SETS of Joy-Cons...). Also thinking Virtual Console isn't coming to the Switch in ANY fashion is laughable.

wonder if the famicom mini controller has mics in them (the original controllers had mics in them)

Sadly no, they just have the buttons, but they're still lots of fun! (I wonder how close they are in size to Switch Joy-cons...)

So glad our Japanese mailbag made it there in time! Also in case anyone was wondering, the Asphalt Rusk candy is edible, but more like a biscuit/cookie consistency.

@drewbert The Race Rubber was in fact picked up off the track by my wife and me after the race. They let people who stayed after do a track walk and you could pick up little bits left on the track. Some people were taking home HUGE bags of the stuff!

And you can still find the Mini Famicoms online, you will just pay a premium at this point...(I was probably able to save some money being able to buy it directly from a Japanese reseller here in Japan, but YMMV.) ^_^

As others have mentioned, I really hope they read these comments and get Alex to go back in the next episode and get the 2 hidden weapons in Pharoah/Dive Man's stages. Can you complete the game without them?

I am most interested in their eShop comments. I'm living in Japan until the end of March, so I want to try and pick up a Japanese Switch since it's region-free, but the question is how region free? If I can't use the American eShop/my US MyNintendo account, that's a problem...

(I guess I'll put in a Japanese pre-order when they open here on Saturday and see what happens.)

@jonny_eh: But you can't even play other peoples levels unless they enter your proximity while both your 3DSs are on. It's fucked.

That's one thing they kind of got wrong in the video. When Vinny asked Jeff if you could exchange levels at "hotspots", that is technically possible as you can StreetPass at StreetPass Relay points in places like McDonald's and BestBuy in the United States.

You can even set up your own StreetPass relay points at home with some technical know-how/homebrew. Now we just need more people carrying their 3DSes around all the time (which I actually do whenever I go out and have been doing so for pretty much the last 4 years).

@cloudymusic: Exactly, hopefully they can at the very least patch in better search functionality at some point in the near future. If they could do that and perhaps an "Upload to my Wii U" function so people with the "full" version on Wii U could share their levels later, that might just salvage this game.

(Also people in the homebrew scene are already working on such tools, thankfully.)
