@allworkandlowpay: I just think these are unrealistic expectations. People in the industry know each other and can become friends. That's just reality. I have faith in the professionalism of the press that I follow. I trust Giant Bomb. If reviews were objective, maybe this would have more weight, but there are so many things that can consciously or unconsciously skew the enjoyment someone gets from a game. I just... man, it's consumerist toy reviews, you know?
@allworkandlowpay: Except for Harmonix games? Also, most writers recuse themselves if they're particularly friendly with developers. There is plenty of conspiracy theorizing and paranoia, but a year later we're still without any evidence of "collusion" or biased coverage.
@scarycrayons: You're being disingenuous. You don't need to associate yourself with GG to talk about Steam keys in exchange for reviews; and under-representation in the industry is the kind of thing the average GG supporter balks at. You also don't need to scratch the surface to see the filth coming from vocal GamerGaters.
I don't understand why anyone is still on board with that hashtag. What are they providing that isn't being talked about elsewhere that a reasonable person would consider worthwhile? What is GG offering that isn't the trash flowing on KotakuInAction?
Oh man, this is the perfect avenue for the return of Richard the Horseman. No tabletop setup to worry about, Austin could DM from the Beast Coast office. Come on, Unplugged!
