Rosebud.

Today was the first and last visit to UGO I've ever undertaken, and I'm sorry I gave them one extra hit. Curiousity got the better of me. At least now I can easily say I haven't missed much. Not only that, but avoidance of their shit in the future will come from disinterest as well as spite, so that helps me to stick to what small principles I have. I will continue to give IGN my patronage, but whatever extra interest I have will come here, as I join the avalanche of 1Uppers which has no doubt already hit GiantBomb. I'm probably not alone in hoping Milk, Shane and the guys will make their way to IGN or GB, or even their own venture, in much the same way Jeff had his here. The best revenge is living well, as they say, and I'm confident the guys could put something together that would in short notice kill any desire to go to the new 1Up. Hell, it's already gone. As Jeff Green said and we all knew, the personalities were the brand. Without them, they're sunk, and UGO claims no benefit from the death of a supposed competitor. Whatever audience they have is a very different one from that of 1Up or here. There are no positives for anyone involved here. A momentus assemblage of talent and friendship has been scuttled, and all for naught. The way it all went down adds insult to injury. Hearst isn't even giving EGM a farewell issue, after 20 years? Just gone like that, literally overnight? Kane met a better end.
