I bought SC2 at launch having never really played an RTS before. After finishing the campaign I started slowing getting into 1v1 matches. Once my friend taught me how to 4Gate, i managed to get myself into gold, only to quit the game shortly after. A few days ago I recently installed the game, this time with the intent to use a much more macro oriented build. I have been 3Gate robo'ing a bit, with a little bit of success, but not much. Soooooo my question is this. Whats a good build to go if you want to solo focus on improving your macro?
Carried Zulf and chose to regenerate the Bastion. I was a bit confused with the former though. Were you supposed to not die when you were carrying him? And what happened to Zulf?
My theory is that the Ura were attacking you as you were carrying Zulf, but then realized what you were doing as a gesture of peace and respect and let you go. I don't know, I'm not too good with theories but that's what it seemed like to me.
If you noticed, as you were carrying him and after they stop attacking, you walk past a group of them in which one of them attacks you. That guy is quickly killed by the others in the group. So yes, they stopped attacking you out of respect for what you were doing with Zulf
I actually did notice that. The guy behind the guy shooting you just hits him or something and he falls down. It was a nice touch.
That last stretch of carrying Zulf through the Ura was my favorite part of the game. I don't understand why IGN said this game had a weak story. The story was the best part of the game.
@Levio: Calling league of legends hyper competitive is like calling the chicago cubs a good baseball team. The reason Dota has been so popular is because of its high skill ceiling. I understand that a lot of people who don't play dota are interested in the crazy, off the wall game modes, but the people who will be playing the game the most are going to be much more interested in the core experience.
Game Mode overload. There is no better example of this than Left 4 Dead 2. Between campaign, survival, versus, versus realistic mode, campaign realistic mode, and survival realistic mode, Valve was spreading thin an online community that was never that large in the first place. From what i have heard about Dota 2 from people in the beta, there will be a LOT of modes. I'm just hoping that it doesn't suffer from the same problem L4D 2 suffered from.
