For anyone who's never seen this masterpiece of a game before: Notice how some attempts on a song sounded differently? They wrote and performed tons of alternate song segments, and vaguely based on how well you do you can go down entirely different song paths with different difficulty curves, most noticeable in the Gregorio fight with the choir and organ. Only a couple of songs lacked that feature, like the all-defense shark stage, or the Legendary Theme stages.

Also it's a crime how the game never tells you that letting off of an attack/charge note before the end is necessary to get 90% of the benefit. You'd never intuit that outside of maybe noticing it happen by accident.

I started off surprisingly disappointed in this game and trailer just 'cause Kiryu's VA is so good, but calling out Dual Audio (which is hopefully what we're all assuming it is) redeemed it entirely for me. I'm stoked that it's coming out this year!

Fun fact time! One of my favourite words, since the whole world seems to have forgotten it, is "abstruse". That's what the Beasters were thinking of when calling something obscure or overly complicated. Obtuse, on the other hand, is what you'd use to call someone/something dull-witted or stupid.

Nobody seemed to notice (maybe someone did when it was being streamed), but at around 1:12:45 Jeff Bakalar and Dan awkwardly try to hug eachother from afar by stretching out their arms while Dan is still conversing with Vinny.

@humanity: To add to mustachio's great explanation, there was a trailer in the middle of the recent Playstation Experience opening show that showed off some of the story and cinematic experiences that will be in the game, as well as a look at one of those "Elder Dragon" bosses.

Plus, even if you taper off around high-rank, supposedly the game is gonna have the most monsters and content in it out of any MH game, according to the devs, so there'll still be a decent value proposition (most likely, might be worth waiting until it comes out to confirm something like that if you're on the fence). Part of the loop is also seeing new, fiercer monsters and figuring out their behaviour and gimmicks.

Bummed that they're having her play the NES version (which Dan already played?)... the Wii version of Punch Out doesn't get enough love on this website.

Seconding this - the Wii Punch-Out is somehow as good, if not better than this super classic game. They just went all-out with the look and personality of all the fighters, the music variations, the dozen secret moves and strategies for every fight, and they remixed every fighter for Title Defense mode on top of that. The game controls really well (as long as you're not using motion controls), and it's the best remake of Punch-Out you could hope for. Seeing the classic being played, honestly, makes me want to dig out my Wii again and see how well I can do after not touching the remake for so long.
