The Fifa franchise has always been renowned for bettering Pro Evolution Soccer, so why is it that the predecessor of Fifa 2008 styled the game play in the ways of PES? The game play was furthered to realism with advanced AI but it was less enjoyable and more formal. Fortunately, though Fifa 2009 sticks with the furthered AI and advanced specs of 2008 while diverting the game play back to the original, enjoyable formula of 2007 with a wealth of new features. But you still have the standard arra...

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas was the first tactical shooter to make it upon the next gen consoles. Vegas was then critically acclaimed to be the best shooter of 2006 or perhaps of this gen for its fantastic tactical shooting appeal often now overlooked as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has changed online gaming forever, Rainbow Six Vegas still remains today as one of the best tactical shooters out there. Vegas 2 continues that formula in providing absolutely nothing new except a rehash of all ...

Mirrors Edge was foretold to be the revolutionary platformer, to be unmatched and unrivalled and truth be told, Mirrors Edge doesn't revolutionize the genre but innovates it. Mirrors Edge certainly shows a high level of polish but it still has frustrations that were needed to get passed to make this a revolutionary game. Instead it's more of an innovating concept rather than a revolutionary standard for platforming games to take upon this path in the future. Mirrors Edge background is a surpris...

The James Bond franchise has always been rather successful in the gaming industry. This isn't really because of the license they behold but more so because the quality of the games are of a relatively high standard. Take Golden Eye for example, the truly defining shooter on the Nintendo 64, followed up by the successful “Everything or Nothing” and “Nightfire” on the Playstation 2. Quantum of Solace continues this with a fun and promising shooter, nothing more and nothing less.   After all Quant...

Assassins Creed was scheduled to be Ubisoft's next franchise after the Prince of Persia Trilogy. Everyone was excited, adventure lovers and fans alike. There wasn't a reason NOT to be excited, for this was to definitely spark off something immersive and innovative for the genre. Unfortunately, in my opinion Assassins Creed doesn't continue the success of the Prince of Persia Trilogy and is an overrated game but there are plenty of solid despite dragged on areas of the game to be had.Assassins Cr...

The Need for Speed franchise has been known for its fast paced, hot blooded racing and some snazzy chicks along the way and in many respects Prostreet doesn't change the given and successful formula but it falls short due to some less fundamental problems which become to prevalent to recommend the purchase. Prostreet immediately changes its familiar free roaming elements to a race day twist where you'll be navigating through the menus in order to get to races. Prostreet barely compensates for t...

The Metal Gear Franchise has been claimed as the pinnacle of storytelling and even the best game of all time. Well from the first game to the fourth game in the franchise and this being the last, it's easy to say that Kojima definitely saved the best game till last. Between each and every act, Snake will be shown smoking, warning you of health and safety. Ironically he's smoking and there are messages telling you about Health and Safety on a console. While this is going on there is an installat...

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was the first game in the franchise to feature an extensive multi player component and Guns of the Patriots continues that with Metal Gear Online. As with most multiplayer experiences you can usually expect to jump into a lobby and start a match. Unfortunately this is not the case with Metal Gear Online, when you do so, you're told to download a lengthy patch to get online two optional patches are available. First off, one of the two patches takes significantly lo...

When Littlebiplanet was announced, some people thought Baah, Children's game or maybe it's another one of those Nintendo Wii Rip offs. Littlebigplanet was thought to be a extremley pointless and shallow game, no one would have the guts to mention Littlebigplanet to Xbox Fanboys and expect to come out of the Forum alive. Let's face it Littlebigplanet was a laughingstock underpinning its announcement. Well rest assured Littlebigplanet even hearts the maturity side of gamers and is more of a unique...

Motorstorm was one of the best off roading experiences not because of its quality or quantity but of playing it for sheer fun. When Pacific Rift was announced, it had want want want in it, to top that quality and quantity that Motorstorm was in desperate need of. Motorstorm mantains all the fun its predeccessor packed with quality over quantity as Motorstorm is nearly the best sequel we could have hoped for, from a Motorstorm sequel. Welcome to Motorstorm! Motorstorm's single player is based ar...

Resistance: Fall of Man was the first shooter to make an appearence on the Playstation 3 Platform. Hyped postively from it's last successful franchise-Ratchet and Clank and developer-Insomniac, there wasn't much reason not to be hyped around the title. Unfortunately Resistance didn't deliver the promise it had made although delivering on most fronts, it hadn't delivered on all fronts that it had promised. But you can't knock it all off Resistance, it's still a fantastic shooter. Soon after the ...

Haze was a game which was overhyped all too much for its own good. What gave it the hype? Was it the craze that the creators were Ubisoft? Or maybe the jealousy that Playstation hadn't had any half decent first person shooters since Resistance: Fall of Man? Calling Haze mediocre or even a piece of garbage is harsh because while Haze doesn't justify the hype it received, it still offers something original and satisfying. Haze purposely or accidentally made the missions like a Haze. Missions are...

Playstation Home has been in the making for many years, this is exaggerating but I'm trying to convey my point on how long Playstation needed for this development. Playstation announced Home in 2007 and explained how it would change Playstation and be ready for next year. I'm afraid to say but it hasn't fulfilled any of these two points in a major way. Playstation Home was told be ready for 2008 in the year's first quarter. Many tedious delays delayed it until the second quarter, then the third...
