Guys

Fuel is the best way to slow down your craft, aerobraking is cool, but please stop jettisoning all of your fuel and relying entirely on it!

This. They abandon so much fuel! It's there to be used, just use it!

I'm in favor of the change. It really sucks for the guy who mainly bought GvG packs. Actually, the most common advice for which packs to open was usually a split between classic and GvG packs, favoring GvG. So anyone who recently started hearthstone following that advice will find themselves stuck in Wild until they build up their collection of other cards.

However, I think this is a necessary change. There are only a few real ways to move this kind of game forward. They can 1) do a rotation like they plan on doing, 2) they can continually power creep with new expansions, 3) they release a bunch of side-grades and weak cards on a regular basis that does little to dislodge the current most popular cards or change up the kinds of decks we see in a big way, or finally, 4) they can spend large amounts of development resources on rebalancing old cards on a continual basis, slowing down the release of new cards.

They have made strong arguments against constant balance tweaks that I by and large agree with, so number 4 is out, and for 2 and 3, those aren't really better solutions. For solution 3, that's kind of what they did in 2015 and the game has started to stagnate, and people are getting bored with it. For solution 2, that's comparatively better because at least it prevents stagnation, but it leaves players behind in the exact same way as a rotation does, by requiring people constantly get the latest sets so their decks stay relevant. Also, power creep is a dangerous thing to play around with.

The rotation keeps the meta fresh, allows new player to buy in relatively cheaply, while keeping the power levels to relatively sane amounts. It's really the only thing that makes sense for this game. It just sucks that some new players are getting most of their collection thrown away by this. You can always play in Wild, but to be fair, I don't expect that game mode to be nearly as fun.

I wish I was able to type all of these words while this comment section was still active.

I'm pretty sure Erik Wolpaw wrote more for this list than he has for Valve over the last four years.

Fantastic list, though.

Absolutely no mention of the 3DS DQ7 and 8 remakes coming to the US? That's huge news for RPG fans!

I know Jeff suggest you end at Super Castlevania IV, but I really hope you guys keep going! This is one of my favorite series on the site, and I think it would be really cool to see you guys tackle Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night.

edit: I should say that if you do continue, Dracula X for the SNES is basically just a neutered version of Rondo of Blood, so pick only one of those, preferably Rondo.
