Even through the UK gets a bad rep for tipping, I tend to tip 15-20% on average. Having worked in service for a few years, it really does make a difference to the server's day and just encourages better service long term.
The more you use a device, the more energy it needs to operate but battery life on a Mini should see you through a day of super heavy use. I can happily leave mine for 4/5 days or so with my usage patterns without charging.
At the end of the day, if you've used a Mini and like the performance and form factor as it is just now, I'd go for it. But I would wait at least 3 days until the Apple event on the 10th.
I own both a 3DS and a Vita and love them. The Vita has been worthwhile it thanks to my PS Plus library, Persona 4 Golden, and the ability to have a bunch of great indie games on the move (recently played through Hotline Miami, and working through Guacamelee just now). The fact that it has access to a bunch of PS1 and PSP games at decent prices is a nice bonus too.
Earlier in the year when the PS4 / One were announced, I was pretty quick to jump on the pre-order bandwagon with Amazon. After a little deliberation though, I figured I'd just grab the console with no games and accumulate a digital collection over time; I'm sick of game boxes, discs and the clunkiness that comes with storing media. It's 2013. Anyone else feeling the same, or is retail still appealing to most?
London's great fun, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I'd echo what some other duders have said: go travelling. London's has great connections to pretty much anywhere.
If you find time / money, jump up to Scotland for a bit. £40 train ticket from Euston to Glasgow Central, takes about 4 hours. Really awesome city — great music and comedy scene, lots of great pubs, museums, people, etc.
