This game is fantastic, and I was very skeptical of the episodic nature, but I think it perfectly suits this game and actually enhances it. I've been playing the first mission all month trying to get all of the challenges.
I had to stop listening during your take on the strategy stuff. Mercedes have been very consistent with how they handle strategy. First car on track gets first call on the pit stops, with both cars on the optimal strategy, unless extraneous circumstances (like a closely following Vettel going for an undercut) force them into something else in order to guarantee a 1-2.
Getting the 1-2 is the primary objective. Their strategy isn't concerned with the order of that 1-2, that's up to the drivers. Hamilton couldn't hack it in qualifying or the race, so he ended up second. End of story. How in the world is Rosberg a sore loser when it's Hamilton whining?
In Mexico they pitted both cars an additional time because they had the gap over Ferrari and it was a no-brainer to do it as a precaution. Rosbergs tyres weren't any worse, but you can't pit one car and then not pit the other. How is that so hard to understand?
I absolutely agree. I also got frustrated with how much Danny hates Rosberg. He mentioned the time Rosberg threw the hat when he was frustrated, but made no mention of Lewis being a child this entire weekend, from refusing to go to the photo op after qualifying to being a huge crybaby on the podium.
I love Dan, and I figured this is what the surprise that Danny hinted at was going to be, and I was VERY excited. But Dan seems like he had no interest in engaging with this on any level at any point. What a shame.
Maybe we can get Jeff or Brad in on this at some point. Really missed opportunity. I was even excited further while watching race, figuring that it was such a great race for a first timer to watch, how fortunate that we get the Dan Rykert episode for THIS race, and it's the USA race!
