TMNT is a better movie than any other live action 80's adaptation. Better than MotU, better than Bay's Transformers, better than that GI Joe... so on, and so forth.
Is it a good movie? Sure, it's good. Great? It has great moments, and mostly hits its themes of "even though this is the crazy 80s, family still means something."
However, it shows some strain and editing problems. Why does Danny know where the Turtles' lair is?
Could someone explain why people would prefer something like the MiSTer over simply using an emulator? I know it's hardware emulation vs software emulation, but I don't really understand what that means in practical terms. How do you notice the difference when you're actually playing the games?
(I also hope we get more cross-coast podcasts by the way, this is great!)
Imagine your favorite song, transposed down half a step and two beats per second slower. It's still basically the same song, and someone hearing it for the first time could still enjoy it. But if you knew the song intimately, it would strike you as very odd.
I'm still really excited for the game, but this is exactly why I don't buy games on day one anymore. Hopefully a couple of title updates will get this right as rain by early next year.
Terry is the only candidate who asks "Are you OK" before punching you so hard that his hand explodes. As a voter, I appreciate that level of compassion.
