I probably have some that were longer, like PSO and MMOs, but these are the two that stick out the most.

First was me and three friends playing Hexen for the N64 from morning until late night, with Robert Palmer's greatest hits playing for the majority of the time on repeat. Afterward we all felt sick and never played it again.

Second was my best friend and I started drinking at 1pm and decided to do all of the Subspace Emissary. I think we passed out sometime around 4am. Woke up the next day and had beat the Emissary and also apparently made a bunch of stages that were just loads of spikes with the theme to Emerald Hills. Great day.

Here's something different:

Thunderbolt Fantasy

It uses Puppetry! and it's FUCKING BADASS!

Coolest puppet-based fight scenes you'll ever see. You'll be hooked after the first scene of episode 1. At least I was!

This is my recommendation as well. My favorite thing I've seen in a long time. It may be puppets, but it's also anime as hell.

I think she hit the ground running. 6 Crazy Frights is currently one of my favorite shows. I hope they find a way to keep something similar going with Abby on the spot and Vinny in the booth after this. "Hewwo, woof woof, git your shit togevah" is one of my favorite things that's ever been said on the site.

@zerocoin: Awesome. Are the switches on there purely cosmetic? I bought a very simple case to start because I wasn't sure how everything would turn out. Now that things are working great I am considering a fancier case and looking into options for a power switch. Also, thanks for the performance tips.

I'm less worried about the price of an individual service, and more about how stratified things are becoming. I feel like the proposition moving forward is to either subscribe to every service, or juggle/catch up on a different one each month. Is this what we used to say we wanted cable to be, and now that it's happening we're grumpy about it?

As far as controllers go I use a Buffalo Classic USB Gamepad for anything that was designed to use 8 directions and 2-6 buttons. I use a DS4 for everything else. They both work great, although I do think the Buffalo is a tad more responsive. Most of the recommended emulators have solid default inputs as well, which can be easily edited by pulling up the Retroarch menu.

@bill_mcneal: I think it has something to do with going into Retroarch while you are at the prompt in game and changing to the next iso. This is something I've been meaning to try.

@kingbonesaw: The one's I've tried have worked great. Once you get into CD games you just have to be a bit more mindful of space since you'll most likely be using micro SD. You can do USB storage as well, but I think there's an added step to it. The nice thing though is that the Pi 3 has wifi, and Retropie automatically sets all folders to share. So adding and removing roms and srms from your PC is a breeze.

My favorite board game is Betrayal at House on the Hill. It's the only board game that I will always say yes to. It's just too much stupid fun, especially if you do some light RP. Even if you manage to play through every scenario the outcome will still be different based on the people you play with and the circumstances leading up to the betrayal.

The NES and SNES classics both piqued my interest, but in the end I couldn't rectify the nostalgia and value with the price or nonsense involved in getting one. However, the idea of a small emulator box with gamepad navigation was still super appealing. Also why limit myself to NES/SNES? So I finally made a Retropie. I had to do some research and learn a thing or two, but all told it was pretty easy and cheap. It also works great and has tons of functionality/customizability. So, anyone else go this route? How did it work out for you?
