Much better GOTY this year than recent years. Would have liked to see a few more categories but appreciate this would have been difficult but liked going back to the old category format and loved having it live.

Also what a top ten. I thought last year wasn't great for games, but looking at this list, it was actually pretty great.

@niko_of_death: Couldn't agree more. GB East hasn't worked for me, Drew leaving was a big loss and now Dan leaving. The GOTY content was some of the worst content I've seen on this site in recent times and I don't see much enthusiasm from Brad anymore either. I really hope GB West get some good series going rather than just one off videos.

I haven't seen a list this poor since XCOM won. Only Controland Outer Wilds grabbed my interest this year out of these.

I like the new format andI don't miss the constant arguments the previous format brought with this group of people. I do like listening to the team actually just talking about the games of the year that matter to them. I never thought the old categories allowed for games to be discussed as a whole which is what I want from an end of year selection.

Thanks to Marino for the time stamps so I don't have to listen to all of these just yet. It enables me to listen to the parts about the games I'm interested in and I'll go back and listen to them in full some time later.

Not as impressed this year than other years. I thought Drew and Jason were noticeably absent from conversations, especially in the Game of the Year debate. Austin was a nice new inclusion but I still am not fussed on Alex. He's too loud, always interrupts people and comes across like his words are the only important ones and everyone should agree with him. Personally I think these game of the year podcasts were better before he was involved.

Too much arguing, and you would think by now they would have a process in place as to how to deal with all this. Each year just seems to get more of a mess.

But happy SMM made it to the top.
