Games I've started (and maybe finished) in 2019

Here's a running list of the games that I'm playing in 2019 and a fluid ranking of how much I like them (with 1 being the most).

List items

  • Blackout is the best Battle Royale I've played yet. The multiplayer is a lot of fun. The individual classes are different enough to make them feel varied, but no one class is too overpowered that it makes it no fun. There's no "meta" like in typical class-based shooters.

  • Playing through this for the first time in my life with the Switch online service.

  • The story mode is a lot of fun, it's great to see all of the unique scenarios the devs came up with. After some clunkiness, the online service has smoothed out, but I wish it was easier to find a room with your desired ruleset.

  • Got the Ultimate version of this for Switch since I never played the Wii U version. I find it more challenging than most (mainly because I'm just not that good at platforms). The art style isn't my thing, but it feels good to play and I love the level design.

  • Bought this to play with my girlfriend after we tried it at a friend's house. It's a blast to play any of the modes together. There's the usual Mario Party bullshit, but as a fun thing to play for an hour or two, it's really polished. The new ability to practice on the minigame screen is clutch, too.
