@hailinel: Quick tip on taking steady photos without a tripod:

If you have a broom or a mop or a chair nearby, rest your phone/camera on top of broom/mop handle or back of chair while taking photo. You're still holding on to the camera here, just getting a little extra stability. That helps a lot in a pinch. I have terribly shaky hands due to an old injury so I have to do this whenever I take a picture without my tripod handy.

Totally. All that extra mic noise from the streamer and game sound in the background is really nice to have on the recording and is just as good as a clean audio track. T_____T

@nasp: Ther trigger radius for their launch is pretty big so no luck yet on getting to end of level with any unlaunched yet.

This is awful. Twitch is most welcome to disallow playing of copyrighted music outside of game without permission, that is fine and that is already soft-banned on the service anyway. The business of going after native in-game audio is a major problem. That cannot be allowed to go forward.

That's a welcome change for me. I've never been interested in reading in-depth critical analysis of games. I have always been inclined to skim reviews to see whether opinion is good/meh/bad and then, if i'm unusually curious, read a little more to find out why.

It's not like game criticism is some hallowed noble profession that society will be weakened for its absence. There are lots and lots of things games journalists can do, and are actively doing, to maintain their audience.

This game is very well designed. It keeps surprising me with well thought out enemy and obstacle placement. Definitely has that Super Meat Boy thing where it all comes together smoothly when you play fast and accurate. Just zipping along as fast as possible often puts you in perfect position to take on the next set of obstacles.

@nasp: Yes, i'm doing some preliminary routing for it right now. I'm not sure what sorts of skips have been found yet by others. Nothing major that i have found yet. Just by nature of the falling targets, it would be pretty hard to do much in the way of serious out of bounds stuff. I'm trying to figure out if you bypass a balloon target entirely without triggering its launch, does that count as a missed enemy? Seems like it would but I want to test it first to make sure.

So far geometry is pretty tight as far as clipping through things is concerned.

This one is a disappointment for me and wasted potential. It was initially planned as a trilogy. Books 1 and 2 are paced with that in mind. Then book 3 happens. It's not a trilogy anymore. And apparently it's not going to be, ya know, good anymore either. My impressions expressed as score:

Book 1: 8/10

Book 2: a generous 7/10

Book 3: 3/10

Book 4: 3/10

Eh, no point in plowing through a book you don't enjoy. There are lots and lots of incredible books out there to read that will suit your tastes better. I used to feel bad about wanting to quit reading a book I didn't enjoy. Now I have become a most exuberant book tosser. If I'm not feeling it, I give it 100 pages to redeem itself and if it doesn't it goes flying across the room and in to a corner where it belongs. :D
