and on the other hand IW built up a pretty substantial fanbase on the PC with CoD 1&2, neither of which were console blockbusters in comparison to the PC sales numbers. It wasn't until CoD4 that their console audience FUCKING EXPLODED, and it seems like what went from the silent majority to the silent minority are now being kind of backhanded after their years of loyalty. There are entire clans of PC CoD people who play very specific gametypes (like a snipers-only style where they use maps that are specifically made with lots of cover and you aren't allowed to run to the other side), and so this could really upset the people who aren't interested in playing Deathmatch or HQ and the like. In the end they'll probably either: A) Stick to Modern Warfare or B) Go the way of the Left 4 Dead petitioners and come back to IW with their tails between their legs and say that they're not really sorry but will buy the game anyway.
They should've just released it as an expansion or package or something so if you bought it you could still access the original content. Splitting the user base is never a good idea.
Partners in Time kind of suffered from the sophomore slump. It wasn't as funny as Superstar Saga, and the gameplay just felt like it took a "here's twice as much of everything" approach. This however, looks totally rad.
