Here they are, I have had the game since yesterday and have been playing quite a bit.
I really hope this game does well. Not because I'm some kind of corporate shill, but because we need more original IP's. And the fact that this is an awesome open world action adventure game with RTS elements in it makes it all that much better. It's just done so well, you can obviously see that they worked a long time on creating the world. The lightning is done so well, and the weather system is cool too. It's all pretty dynamic.
The missions so far have been cool, going from bosses and linear path's to my first stage battle last night ( which was pretty hard on Brutal, died a few times here ). I love exploring too, as I want to unlock new songs and get more fire tributes to upgrade my axe or my car. I've got some pretty sweet upgrades right now but I won't spoiler them. It's fair to say I have at least about 7 new moves or something ( which are axe moves by the way, not counting Solo's here ). Facemelter solo is fucking awesome.
The soundtrack is amazing. Considering I'm not a huge metal head, I am very surprised. Not that I have a dislike for metal I just never really dived into it. The amount of cool songs is astounding. I have only unlocked about 50% of the soundtrack so far, and the game just gives me an incentive to unlock more songs.
Sure there aren't that many side missions, but I enjoy some of them. Others are pretty standard open world fare ( escort/drive here with barrel that will explode if you bump ) which aren't that interesting. I like fighting in the game so I always do the ambush ones. The characters are cool, some are less interesting then others but I pretty much enjoy them all. Most of the things the guys say when they are fighting for you is still funny, and Eddie makes funny comments about stuff. I wouldn't say that I'm dying from laughter in front of my tv, but it still makes me chuckle.
The framerate dips every now and then, but nothing to throw a fit over. I haven't installed the game so I don't know if that would solve it. I have played a multiplayer match against the AI which was cool, but tough for a first time. I can't wait till some of you guys have actually finished the campaign and we can set up a nice gaf game. The MP is pretty badass actually.
All in all the positive far outweighs the minor negatives in this game. How anyone can hate it without having played it I cannot possibly understand. Sure it might be a short game if you rush through it like an idiot trying to go for a speedrun on your first go, but if you enjoy the world you will probably not want to do that. I certainly see myself spending quite a long time with the game, as I will try to get all the collectables and stuff. And since the multiplayer is pretty tight, I will spend time with that too.
Another thing is the voice acting which is great, and Ozzy brings the funny.
Sure it may not be the best game ever, but in my opinion it is certainly among the best this year ( so far at least ). The world is amazing, the story is cool and I am certainly enjoying it.
