I like Jeff and Dan, but not like this. Dan's great when he leans into his passion and enthusiasm for games, it's infectious and fun. When he feigns ignorance about basic human things, not so much. Maybe it isn't an act, who knows. Either way, I don't have the patience to find out.
Good writeup Brad, looking forward to playing this in a few months when some of the technical issues can be addressed. Must be frustrating for the dev team to have to release this before they were finished. As a fellow SW engineer this line rings particularly true:
My layman's impression is simply that the game would have benefited from a few more months in production. These problems can't be a surprise to anyone who made and tested this game, but of course time is what's required to actually fix them.
Imagine pouring your heart and soul into something for years and having to release it before you're actually done. The dev team already knows about every issue Brad encountered, but creating a bug report and having the time and resources to fix them are two very different things.
Also, the attempts in the comments to smear Brad over what's perceived as a "low" score for this game are truly pathetic. The idea that he would give a particular score solely for attention is preposterous if you've paid any attention to the man's career, or GB as a whole since its inception.
