Yeah they totally were. Most are unquestionably medicore to bad. But there certainly are some really damn good licensed games as well. Heck, you could probably spend hours talking about the quality of the lord of the rings games alone (might actually be the license with the highest success rate).
Beyond Half Life: Alyx, it's all mostly gimmicky things or on rails games. Worse still is there are a crap ton of VR exclusives only for X headset, cutting the already small base of users in half. You're honestly better off using the money for something else. VR almost hit this time around but is still the 3D movies of the videogame industry: a gimmick.
Halo for me. Worst it ever gets is Halo 5 (from a MP perspective, 4 is the worst), which is a decent game in the scheme of things, just not a good Halo game. Even the Halo Wars games are a good time (if you want to count them). Plenty of in game lore that you can spend hours digging through or ignore and just be various Johnny Halos pew pewing aliens or people online.
Horse Armor, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Considering it actually reduced damage your horse took, it's been more useful than any cosmetic that exists today. Funny how time absolves or condemns things.
It's honestly not bad but tv is so good these days that being alright isn't exactly enough. I'll probably finish the season but the show has yet to be the killer app it was intended to be.
