So, I beat the game as a caster alchemist.  Ember Lance is stupid powerful by the way.  When I finished I thought, "I have a lot of random wasted points that I placed to test things out."  So, I retired that character and it seems.. kind of disapointing.  I got 1 free fame level, and the unique ring I heirloomed to my new character had slight upgrades.  I was under the impression that I was going to have something a little more useful.  Oh well, still a kick ass game.  Playing a vanquisher now on the next difficulty.

You, sir, have missed out on a lot of great games.  A lot.

Not quite sure what would be significantly different to you.  For some people significantly different is a roster update and slightly upgraded graphics.  TL is different from TQ in the way Shadow Complex is different from Super Metroid.  Same general gameplay, different graphics and slightly different upgrades/abilities.

I made a cat.  Named him Kitty.  I later fed him a dog fish and realized how silly it was having a dog named Kitty so I changed him back with a cat fish.

The reason I like this game over TQ myself is the 1 main hub, and then dungeons below.  If you played diablo 1 think of the way that games levels are.  Every 5 levels you go down you get a waypoint to the next area.  I'm in level 31 I think, and it seems I only have about half the waypoints.  The environments are also really cool, and there's some pretty insane boss fights.  The game in general seems a little more out of control and chaotic than TQ imo.  So if you're not turned off by a ton of shit going on at once then I'd highly suggest it.  If you don't feel comfortable dropping the 20 bucks right away steam has a demo version you can play.  Not sure how long of a demo it is, but it convinced one of my friends to pick it up.

I've only gotten it once, but I thought the poison elemental was pretty kick ass.  While we're on the subject of pets, what spells are you guys giving it?  I think right now I've got fireball 4 and flaming sword 5 on him.  The sword seems to be pretty effective.  Especially in clusters.

As far as the class specifics, I havn't run into any yet either.  I don't think they exist in this game due to the fact that in the alchemist skill trees you have weapon specializations for every type of weapon.  Making the mage be kick ass in melee with swords and such, or join the hotty and shoot some lead.  With that in mind I doubt they did put in class specifics.  Maybe certain sets/uniques are in the higher levels?  Either way, kick ass game. I've been enjoying it a lot.  Oh, and just so people don't get turned off by the alchemists first few levels, like a friend of mine did, he is in no way worthless when it comes to fighting with weapons in place of spells.  So, yes the first couple spells are kinda.. meh.  So wack away with that staff!  Early on it's more damaging than spells.

Oh how I can't wait to get home and play.  Preordered last week.  For some reason it wasn't "released" until noon today..  I don't know if their headquarters is in a weird place where the time difference would be around 12 hours.  I would have liked to play early this morning, but I can wait.  It gives me something to look forward to at the end of the work day.  Oh, and Alchemist for me!

Burger King!  The problem with where I live though is there's at least 5 McDonalds in a 3 mile radius.  Closest burger king?  Probably a good 10 minutes away.  So 20 minutes of driving for a burger?  Rather cook my own in less time.

Multiplayer games that don't support local multiplayer are dead to me.  If I want to kill people online, I'll do it on my PC.  In my chair.  At my desk.  If I want to play games with my wife, I'd like to be able to sit next to her on a couch, or lay on the bed or something.  I'm not going to buy 2 consoles, and 2 copies of 1 game just so I can shoot her.  I think I'll walk down to the local Get Some: Guns and Ammo instead.  Hmm...  See what you did developers?  You have a death on your hands! It's all your fault! WHERE'S JACK THOMPSON!!

The shooting my wife part was clearly a joke. Truthfully though if a game designed with a crap story and great multiplayer is made but it's not local then yeah, that's bullshit and said game is not even thought of as a purchase.
