Huh, this was something that I had always thought was cool that they were actually doing it, (I remember the cinematic during the lead-up to the PS3), but wasn't that interested to actually play for myself. FFVII was my first Final Fantasy, I had previously watched my dad play Final Fantasy on the NES back in the eighties, but I never beat FFVII, (I placed the save crystal at the very top of the crater at the end, and never got to what I assume was the final boss with enough healing items to win). After seeing this though, and with it coming out relatively soon, I'm really interested in seeing what they do with this for myself.
@onthezero: I'm the same way, I like the weapon reload perk. The time to summon your sparrow without that perk is so short anyway. I was always confused as to why that was such an annoyance for some people.
Man, I wasn't that interested in this one, but after watching it I'm so glad I did.
As soon as Dan said, "Fight me!" over getting a tie breaker match, I couldn't help bu want to see a feature where Vinny and Dan put on headgear and boxing gloves and spar. Now that would be some explosive content. I know Dan's talked about taking kick-boxing classes or something, but I have to believe Vinny would destroy Dan in the ring. Imagine the T-shirts, and Rocky-style training montages they could make!
Wow, this might be the first God of War game I play. I've loved Greek mythology ever since discovering Edith Hamilton's, "Mythology," when I was in high school, and for that reason I turned my nose up at God of War when the first one came out. I knew almost all of the Greek myths front and back, and from what I read on the back-of-the-box of the first God of War, and what I had heard the tone was of the subsequent games made me think they were cheapening the myths I enjoyed reading.
The mood I'm getting from the two videos here on Giant Bomb, and the general critical response makes me think this is a good place to come in to the series.
