I have a fairly eclectic group of friends and almost every one of them can be placed in one of the groups discussed in the podcast. Being a big wrestling fan myself, I can say that without a doubt the wrestling community is the most toxic, pessimistic, and self absorbed fan base I have ever been associated with. This is not confirmation bias or a couple of bad apples, this is three years of me actively going to shows and browsing the online forums.
So thank you Jeff, for calling some of these guys on their shit. It's actually refreshing to hear Dan with a similar sentiment, because for a while there he was very guilty of being a fan that was trying to put himself over during a show. I don't really think Dan ever approached it like that though, I think he just innocently thought it was funny to see his dumb face on the main camera behind the ring. (I too found it hilarious).
@castiel: I bet just about everybody on this site could pick a certain topic that is often discussed that they don't enjoy/ aren't interested in. You can't expect these guys to perfectly cater to your needs. (see the weeks and weeks of destiny podcasts)
Anyways, Jeff spends a lot of energy keeping the wrestling references down to a minimum. Ultimately it's part of the teams personality, the guys are just being themselves.
I completely understand why people wouldn't want to listen to the power bombcast (as a casual wrestling fan that type of critical commentary is unbearable to me) but to claim that these minor references are taking away from your overall enjoyment of the site is a tad dramatic.
This just in: professional wrestlers have fun and interesting personalities, similar to the guys we enjoy on this site. Just because you have a negative connotation towards wrestling on a personal level shouldn't inhibit your enjoyment of this video game content.
