I like Jeff Cannata, but I don't know if he's the best fit for GB. Besides, he works as an actor out of LA (and seems to be quite busy doing plays, commercials, and TV shows), so I doubt he would even relocate to SF.

A lot of people are suggesting Garnett Lee, which also makes sense, as he's a smart, opinionated video game vet. However, it seems like he's been "the guy" for so long that I doubt it would work well for him to come to GB, in which he would be part of the ensemble. I'd love for him to guest on the Bombcast, though.

Jeff Green is definitely my pick. His personality/sense of humor just seems to fit GB, and he would bring a different perspective having worked for a large game company. Plus, he plays enough Dark Souls to meet the Giant Bomb minimum-Souls played.

It would be great for them to get a new writer like Jeff Green, and maybe a video guy or two to take the burden off Drew and Vinny. Here's hoping CBSi lets them expand.

Made my way to Hiede’s Tower of Flame right after Majula. Fought the first big guy there and actually defeated him. Was feeling pretty cocky at that point and got almost immediately annihilated by the next foe.

Oh, Dark Souls. Always bringing me up just to immediately smack me down.

@ssully: You were right. *insert console* has more good games, more multimedia functions, more cool features, more p's, and more merit than *insert other console*. You can rest easy now that a stranger has affirmed your decision.

I was pretty offended, but just because that sequence taught me how terrible I am at smashing the a button repeatedly. It took around 20 tries until someone else beat it for me.

I like it a lot. My preferred play style is to be really mobile and rack up kills with the Auto Pistol until I can get a Titan. It also forces me to be really tactical about my positioning, since I'm really vulnerable to other Pilots head-on or at a distance. I'm glad it has those trade-offs, because otherwise it would feel too cheap/easy. Ultimately, an assault rifle would earn me more Pilot kills, but I just have too much fun being so mobile.

@insanegenis: I'm just a Playstation Plus subscriber, so they have my email. I didn't sign up for anything beforehand, they just emailed me.

I'd imagine it's a random drawing of PSN or PS Plus subscribers who have recently used their PS3. I'm a fairly new subscriber (just got my PS3 a couple of months ago), so I was pretty surprised I was picked.

Got the invite yesterday. Still waiting on the beta voucher to arrive, but I'd be happy to share my experiences if I'm not under some crazy NDA.

Started playing a lot about 3 weeks ago. I'm around 260-270 deaths. I've beaten Olmec 7 times without shortcuts. I made it to the City of Gold for the first time last night. Never been to hell.

What's been really interesting to me is the moments of breakthrough in the game, where things just click and what seemed impossible before is now achievable. It took me about 30-40 tries just to get out of the mines, then that started to become routine. I made my first run to Olmec around death 100. It wasn't until 200 deaths that I finally beat him. Getting to Olmec and beating the game has started to happen a lot more frequently, but now getting to hell seems like a whole other level of challenge.

It's definitely helped that I've been watching Spelunkin with Scoops and Lord Remo's Daily Challenges, and I've learned a ton about playing the game just by watching others play it. Pretty sure that this is the first game that I've gotten better at by watching streams.
