" It's exactly like the earlier Monster Hunter games. Once you get to a certain hunter rank, you'll start fighting tougher versions of monsters which give you (mostly) different items.  You can't get any +items offline in this one. "
Haaa so that is how it works. Shame that you have to get that rank up online but that is why you play the game i suppose. I would have preferred having to hug them when they are stunned, monster hugger tri.

" haha, when you get to HR 31 online you start getting plus drops. now i haven't gotten that far online yet either so i dont know exactly what that means, but that's what i was told when i asked. i'm guessing just tougher monsters (great).

31 is a long long way to go...

@emkeighcameron: Something like this only happened to me a couple of times so far. When you are in a good group it rocks. Yesterday i spend a good 2 hours doing quests with 3 other guys who all had keyboards and it was great.

Like any online team based games sometimes things can go wrong and Monster Hunter Tri is a game where if things go wrong they go extremely wrong. Share the pain.

--------------------------------------

To start this off my team just failed a Rathelos hunting mission in a facepalm worthy way.

A guy called "Panzer" starts the 2 star Rathelos killing mission. Me and 2 others join up with him to kill the beast. The game starts of normally  with everyone pillaging the blue box and then going out to find the beast. I only had 4 great potions and 10 normal ones with which I was a bit worried about, I also completely forgot to have dinner before going on that quest so if anyone was about to die i figured that it would be me.
Well not exactly, we see the beast and Panzer charges it with his longsword and dies... then rage quits leaving us 3 alone against the Rathelos with only 2 lives left. We did not give up and continued the fight which went pretty well. I managed to keep my health up all the time and land a significant amount of hits on it. Then one of my two team members dies, not a biggie though since we still had a life left and we were holding up really well.
We manage to damage it to the point that it started limping and followed 2 zones like that, it only needed a couple of hits and it would have been dead. The it turns around and charges me, i raise my shield but I appear to collapse and the screen says "hunt lost". I was extremely confused about what happened because I did raise my shield, then I see my character rise with one of my dead team mates at my feet. He did not block or dodge while being low on health and caused us to lose the fight at the very very end. Now that did not bother me all that much really, sometimes you win sometimes you lose.
What happened in town bothered me quite a bit more however. I was still  a bit confused and asked them what happened. If I died, one of them, if we ran out of time. To which the guy who died last answered "panzer died first"... I could not believe my eyes.

Hopefully next time I'll play some of the online I will not stumble upon someone who denies any sense of accountability. Great game but you do need to play it with the right people.

Stop while you can... CIV4 is extremely addicting. Absolutely brilliant games but way too addicting for your own good.

Place your towns about 8-10 squars (it has been a while but i think that was it) appart form eachother otherwise their infuence (where you can collect resources) zones will grow over eachother and you won't get as much out of your city as you would have otherwise.

Yeah that fire one looks quite odd... It is a bit like they just smoked some marijuana and it is not quite working out the same way for them.

I hope that there being older main character that the story will be a bit more mature. Probably not but here is to hoping.

Some of the information below is yet to be confirmed, so don't run with it as 100% until we get proof.

- Isshu Region
- protagonists are older than the protagonists from other Pokemon games
- Grass starter: Tsutaja - grass snake pokemon
- Fire starter, Pokabu - fire pig pokemon
- Water starter, Mijumaru - sea otter pokemon
- Zoroark as an ability called 'illusion' which allows him to transform into other Pokemon
- Trickery - allows attack to be calculated using the opponent's stats
- Claw Sharpen - raises user's attack and accuracy stats
- special movie event details: special battle against level 25 Zoroark will occur, which transforms into various Pokemon. It will eventually break transformation which allows for capture.

Thanks to all that sent this in!

Low for all the things that you have to do. For a game it is quite long. Wish more games were longer. Short games are just no fun, once you are starting to get into them they are already over.

I just upgraded my water poking stick and the next upgrade for it asks for "+" carves of both the Ludoroth and Lagiacros. Now the problem is that i have absolutely no idea how to get those. Is it something they drop when you capture them? Do you need to beat them in the arena? Cuddle them? Knit them a warm sweater? Did i miss the hug button?

60? Well that leaves me 8hours to beat all the bosses... fun times. I guess i spend some time online too but 60 seems a bit low for the solo mode. Well this is my first Monster Hunter game so I suppose that someone who is familiar with the gameplay would finish it way quicker then I.
