Forrest Hunters is now my least favorite. One of the hunters decided to randomly end it all while I was in the forest. I got the blame (and 2000 souls) and now I'm out of the covenant. Glitchy as shit.

I'm going to take pleasure in farming them now.

I don't know about the no looting thing. I just grabbed a Soul of a Proud Knight (or somesuch) off a corpse and looted the eastern armor, and the cat was happy as can be with me.

I just joined the Forrest Hunters. It's fun to be summoned for pvp. There really is zero benefit to it other than that. well, that and the merchant in blighttown sells cool shit.

Once I buy everything I want from him, I'll kill one of the forest hunters and break the covenant. From what I understand they're great for farming souls.

Yeah if you want him to show up, head down to the door Havel was guarding, enter Darkroot Garden (just go far enough til the title card saying the zone name pops up), then run right back to undead parish, head to the afformentioned tower with the black knight, and have your one arrow ready.

The only thing that really bothered me about Blight town was the horrible camera. Every complaint anyone has had with the camera in this game is true. It's awful. Fighting with your camera clipped through a ledge over your head= fuck this game.

That said, I managed to make it through Blight town relatively unscathed, though I am scared that everyone is saying Sen's Fortress/Tomb of Giants/Lost Izalith is worse.

Worse how?

Like "technically broken, fuck this game's camera programmer" worse, or "much more difficult" worse? I can handle difficult, I don't even mind some cheap deaths, as long as there isn't any more areas where the bad camera combines with a bad frame rate and narrow ledges.

I gotta say, I'm having fun taking this game as a jack of all trades character.

I started as a thief (so I could get the master key and a gift) and I'm going for mostly Dex, but at SL 27, I have the minimum stats to dabble in sorcery, miracles, and pyro, and I'm digging having options.

I'm sure a purebreed character is more powerful, strictly speaking, but I don't see myself doing a new game+ (or even beating the whole game) so I kinda want to experience a little of everything this first go-round.

@Vitalise: Is this the lightning guy with the giant staff that kinda looks like he's taking a knee? He dropped nothing for me.

Granted, I had a cover-based arrow shootout with him, so maybe if I had the sack to hit him with something pointy, I would have been rewarded for my bravery.

On topic, the best weapon I've found so far is Astora's Straight Sword on my Faith-based guy, and the Baldur Side Sword (now +5) on my Dex based Thief.

Neither of my characters have the strength to wield the Drake Sword, nor the Zweihander I grabbed from the graveyard near Firelink. I'm only a few hours in, though. I'm sure I'll get better stuff as I go.

Incidentally, does anyone know where I can get a good bow? I still have the short bow that I grabbed from a jerk in the Undead Asylum. My Thief is pretty dependent on his bow, and I'd hate to waste good materials and souls upgrading the shortbow...

I'm curious where EA's John Riccitiello got his info from. Patrick, do you know where he's citing "consoles are 40% of the market now" from? I'd be curious to see the breakdown for consoles, mobile, facebook/social, and pc, and how they obtained their data.

@uniform: well said. I was in a nostalgic mood already this week, and now thanks to this thread I find myself pulling up albums I haven't listened to in like 10 years.
