Brutal Legend Review 0

I have to start this review letting the reader know something… I was completely biased towards this game from the moment I saw the metal setting, Jack Black, Tim Shafer, and panthers that shoot lasers out of their eyes. Now, since that’s out of the way… Brutal Legend is a story of Eddie Riggs, a roadie for a modern day “metal” band. After an accident at the start of the game, Eddie is transported into a mystical age, where metal influenced everything from clothing to architecture. Within the ...

Demon's Souls Review 0

Demon’s Souls. That’s a name I have been recommending a lot lately to my friends. At the same time, I have also been warning them. It’s an epic game on a grand scale, I will say, but along with that you have to mention the painstakingly difficult task it is to get started, and even greater difficulty to finish. At its roots, it is a hack’n’slash set in a twisted medieval fantasy world, devoured by “The Fog”. The story sets out with your created hero stepping foot into the region ravaged by sai...

Need for Speed: Shift Review 0

Need for Speed: Shift is EA’s newest foray into racing. Long gone are the street races known to many NFS fans, now replaced by both real and fake circuit tracks. The game will start you off on a test track, in the cockpit view. While 3 person is available, switch to it for one track and you will tell right away that the focus was put into the cockpit view… and what a view it is. Everything from the interior of the car to the blur at 200 mph is done to great extent. The tracks, on the other han...

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Review 0

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is Codemaster’s sequel to 2001’s original made by Bohemia Interactive. It drops you into the boots of a Marine fire team dropped on Skira Island, a fictional Russian territory taken over by China for its oil assets. The story is minimal, and most of it is played out over radio while hiking through the island. The first thing you will notice when booting the game up is the draw distance. You have detailed vision over about 2 kilometers, and you can see lands...

Uncharted 2 Review 0

I don’t really need to open up with the obligatory explanation of what Uncharted 2 is, or who made it, because honestly unless you have been living under a rock, you have heard of it. So let us proceed straight to it. The first thing that caught your eye was most likely the graphics, and for good reason. Uncharted 2 gives every game a run for its money in this department, no matter the platform you play on. Weather effects, explosions, and animations all look phenomenal, especially on an HD TV...

Hear Me Out 0

Hear me out is a monthly article dedicated to playing devil’s advocate for the current “it” game. It’s in no way meant to offend the game, the reviewers, fans or developers of said game.   Reddog DL - http://darklegendspodcast.podbean.com I’d like to start off by saying that I have been a huge fan of Rockstar since GTA 3, and am still a fan of them with their latest offering Red Dead Redemption. They have always been able to craft an amazing open world environment to play in, and I believe that...
