This game is good, but it really feels like a shallow imitation of Unity.
Unity had a VERY rough launch, but it's been patched and cleaned up, and stands out as the shining beacon for the "older" games in my opinion. Paris is absolutely gorgeous, done the closest to real-life scale so it's absolutely massive, with enormous crowds and some of the best parkour animations around.
I feel like Vinny would really enjoy Unity if he gave it the time. It starts slower but it does a good job of being like the older games that Vinny wishes the new ones were like (AC2, basically) while modernizing the climbing and combat.
I DO wish the story and characters in Unity stood out a bit more, but the setting is great and the gameplay is top notch. I still boot it up about once a year to just run around Paris. I really really miss the "parkour down" stuff that it and Syndicate had, as a smarter way for your character to run down from a perch rather than just climbing down or jumping.
I've never seen Halloweentown (or any of the other Disney Original Movies they've done recently) and do not have Disney + to be able to watch it, but I love just having these on as background podcasts.
I'm thoroughly confused that what Vinny was describing is an "ice cream cake".
In my experience it's always a traditional cake, with a layer or two of ice cream inside the cake. It's delicious and saves time and plate space if you're in the mood for cake a la mode.
I grew up in SoCal so those definitions must be regional I guess??
