I played a lot of Diablo II and my character of choice then was the Paladin. I felt deeply involved with the fiction of the Diablo universe, and the story behind the Paladin seemed to me to be the way to go. While his order was being corrupted, only a small few realized that the real enemy behind the evil spreading throughout the land was Diablo, and so they separated themselves in order to go hunt the demon. That’s badass.

Also, I’ve always been a fan of this kind of mythology, so it seemed to me that the Paladin being the Holy Warrior fit with my principles of justice in the Diablo universe. That’s something that Diablo III has been missing up to this point, with the Barbarian and Monk being the closest thing towards that archetype. Unfortunately I just don’t see the monk as a Diablo type of character, and I’ve never been fond of the Barbarian going back to Diablo 2. 

She isn't exactly what I wanted in a Diablo III character, and I still feel like I'm missing that religious warrior, but I think this is as close as I'm going to get. Also, while I haven't so much complained about the art style of Diablo III taking away from the gothic feel of the game, I do believe some of the characters have, like the Witch Doctor. He's just no replacement for a necromancer in terms of the tone he provides to the game. Then again the Amazon was also a little bit out of nowhere, but Blizzard made her fit in, so we'll see where this goes. Still i'm glad to have something like a Demon Hunter to bring more of a balanced feel to the types of characters you can play. I've never played a character with long range weapons or traps in any type of Medieval fantasy game, so this will be a first, but it seems like an interesting place to start. 
 
So what are your thoughts on the Demon Hunter? Are you ready to declare your Diablo III class now? Also, I can't remember, but now that there are five characters announced, is this the entire line-up or are there still more to come?
