@amphetama: If you meant finished this video, yes I did and now get that the whole thing is definitely a joke, given Jeff’s line of “we’ll talk after the show.” No way would that stay in if this whole thing weren’t a joke.
But as for the actual first episode, no I won’t go back and finish that, I don’t want to waste my time on things that are irritating even if they are a joke; I’m pretty sure it was the GB crew themselves who many times have said something along the lines of, “if you’re blatantly doing something in a shit way in order to make fun of something being done in a shit way, you are still just being shitty.”
I respect the efforts at finding new avenues of content to expose folks to, and this seems like it could have been an interesting show, but I watched about 4 minutes of the first episode and had to stop, the host's "podcast" affectation is something I can't stand and was outright irritating; so I came over to this video to hear the show pitch and now also can't tell if this is all a joke or not...? I want to keep supporting Jeff (have been following him since ~2004) and Giant Bomb, but between this and Albummer totally not landing for me, as well as just my disinterest in Grub Snacks and the new Ranking of Evil, I'm not sure how much of this site is even still worth my time and attention. I'm sorry to have to say that.
Oh, also, if anyone involved in the production of this does read my comments, ducking the video audio whenever Jeff or Dan speak over it is super annoying for me as a viewer; it wasn’t as bad this episode as Jeff seemed to be more proactively pausing for discussion, but it was really bad the first two episodes whenever an offhanded comment would be made.
Jeff didn’t say where to suggest ideas for future episodes, and I doubt any staff read past the first few handful of comments (if at all), but my suggestion would be to do a “Sex Ed” episode just because that would be rife with hilarity from all possible angles!
Also, I can’t believe neither of them noticed or commented on Vint’s last name being Cerf and how we “surf” the internet…!
Hi Jeff, I’m sorry Mass Effect 3 totally failed to strike good with you in seemingly any way. I hope not everyone watching this Quick Look takes away a predisposition to be disappointed with that particular game in the series; more specifically those who may first be experiencing the series through this edition. Personally, I have previously played the trilogy, and left off feeling entirely satisfied; but I am also wholly excited to revisit it again in its entirety (and with proper PC controller support), as well as have my partner experience the series for her very first time!
