As a child of the mid/late-90's, Poke'mon held a special place in my gaming upbringing starting with the original Poke'mon Blue (Red is for chumps, everyone knows it) for the Gameboy. The minute I caught my first Pidgey and won my first Gym battle, I was hooked. The trading card game, the anime, the games of course, my life was Poke'mon as a child, something which has somehow bled through into my adult life now. While I haven't held a Poke'mon card in almost a decade, and while the last Poke'mon movie I saw was the 2nd, I still love those damn games, something which is clearly evident in my 116 hours logged in Poke'mon HeartGold. And while HeartGold/SoulSilver were very exciting to me as the 2nd generation of games were probably my favorite, nothing compares to an entirely new set of Poke'manz to catch, which is why Poke'mon Black/White is my most anticipated game of E3. That's right.

I am an unabashed fan of all things Halo, and even though Halo Wars and Halo 3: ODST weren't quite the same brand of awesome as their sequelized brethren, I still played through them multiple times and had a great time doing it. But Reach really marks the return of Halo. What I got my hands on during the beta felt as much like Halo as you'd want it to, but it was clearly a new direction, one that I am looking eagerly to seeing the result of this September.

Now I know this isn't a game, and when it comes to 3D, I side with the cynicist's camp; I think the whole thing is, as Ryan loves to put it, a fucking boomdoggle of a technology, with ridiculous entry costs for something that really doesn't add to the experience, but more than not actually detracts from it. I think the idea of wearing 3D glasses in my house along with whoever is with me is fucking retarded and with the prices of 3D TV's as they are, the chances of me owning one are effing low. ALL OF THAT SAID, however, I am still eagerly anticipating what Nintendo has up their sleeve on Tuesday, as we know next to nothing on this thing, and everything we do know has been super, super vague.

As a truly unabashed fan of all things Disney and all things Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts gets me excited in ways few other games do. The possibility of a Kingdom Hearts 3 being shown at E3 is probably a lot lower than I'd like, and the chances of us hearing anything substantial on it IF Square says anything about it is even less likely. HOWEVER! As an optimist (I'm not actually but.. it works in this spiel so go with me here) I am fully expecting some news of Kingdom Hearts 3 coming out of either the Sony conference or sometime throughout the week. You'll know where to find me this Friday when all of this is completely not true and not a word is heard about the game; in the corner, whispering to myself that it'll all be okay, clutching tightly the Kingdom Hearts snuggie I don't actually own.

As has already been stated, I am a ridiculous fan of Final Fantasy. I also am a ridiculous fan of Final Fantasy XIII, something completely undeserved on the part of the game. I also have been VERY interested in the Versus project ever since its unveiling years ago. Everything that has been shown so far looks incredibly unique for the franchise, from the far less outlandish character design to the realistic world the game takes place in, it's all very different from the past Final Fantasy games we're all so used to. And since change for major franchises is all the rage these days, I'll love to hear what Versus has to say for itself, that is, if Square Enix actually shows it.

I'm very much of the popular mindset these days that The Legend of Zelda franchise needs a complete and utter overhaul of its mechanics and a major throttle on its series' familiar tropes, which is why any announcement of a new Zelda game has me excited. We have absolutely no reason to believe this game should be any different from Twilight Princess as almost nothing has been revealed of it. However, encouraging comments from Nintendo have been more and more common these days about the status of the Zelda series and its need of something new. These comments have fueled in me an excitement for a new Zelda game which I have never had before.

So it's doubtful we'll see much more of GeoW 3 than what was shown in the Microsoft press conference, but that doesn't mean I'm still not eagerly anticipating this game. April 2011 is a long ways off but I'm already getting excited for the promise of more ridiculous hours of co-op shenanigans and Horde mode nonsense.

All one has to do is look at my played time in Motorstorm: Pacific Rift to know that I am a super fan of the series. Ridiculous, over-the-top death races in all manner of vehicles in exotic locales is really, really appealing to me, so all Sony had to do to drum up excitement in me for a new Motorstorm was say "hey, we're making a new Motorstorm, it's probably going to be pretty good." and that'd be that! In fact, that was exactly how the scenario played out the other night when Motorstorm: Apocalypse was announced. But now I want to see it in action, something all-but-guaranteed on Tuesday at Sony's press conference.

Criterion developing a NfS game that is focused on the NfS games back when they were, you know, actually interesting? Sign me up! Sad to see Criterion not having a shot at Burnout this year, but Burnout can wait a tick for the (fingers crossed) revival of NfS.

So.. the PSP2 is a rumor, a myth, a beacon of light who's sole purpose is to rage Sony fanboys' wet dreams at the thought of two analog sticks on a portable. That said, however, I'm still interested in hearing if in fact Sony has a second portable ready for us this year or if a lot of the pre-show buzz was nothing but fluff. A PSP2 is inevitable, the question is when and where, and E3 would be a good place, Sony could use the hype after the PSPgo.
